The more revelations that are revealed around this doping incident the more mind blowing it becomes.

The fact he has never been tested in Mexico puts his entire career in doubt, how long has he been doping for believing he would never be tested in Mexico and could just cycle on and off as he pleased.

In any other sport a country showing such corruption/negligence in regards to doping would expect the possible threat of all it's athletes being suspended until proper doping controls could be put in place. That's what happened with Russia within athletics, they threatened to do the same with Kenya. But this is boxing, the lack of a unified body breeds corruption and allows inconsistent approaches.

The WBC reputation is in tatters. It did well the be the first to introduce VADA testing but clearly that was more a PR exercise than a real attempt to clean up the sport. They banned Povetkin for life then changed their mind when they received a $250K payement. They have a clear bias towards Mexican boxers and any idea that the WBC should be seen as the most prestigious of belts is laughable, it's just another corrupt sanctioning body.

US boxing as well takes a hit from this. Once again we see another US boxer given a joke of a ban. UKAD may not have handled the Fury doping scandal well but it at least tried to enforce and punish a boxer for doping instead of just sweeping it under the carpet and giving a pathetic ban.

Boxing as a whole is suffering from a huge problem with doping. Price has been beaten every time by a boxer who has been caught doping. Ortiz still got a title shot even after failing a test for the 2nd time in his career. Yoka was allowed to miss test not the minimum of 3 times but 4 times and is still allowed to box, when other sports would of banned him. Povetkin has been caught twice and is likely to get a mandatory shot soon.
