I think that Canelo beats him at least as convincingly as Duran did (and very likely stops him even sooner).

Will Canelo be allowed to use the "thumb to the eye" technique early in the fight like Duran did????

Davey Moore wins. Canelo is tailor made for him.

The exact opposite is true. Canelo is far better defensively, probably has faster hands, probably has better power, and throws tighter punches.

I rate Davey Moore highly. He had excellent power, a good chin and good stamina. He could flurry as well and had two-fisted ability. I remember him demolishing South Africa's Charlie Wier in five rounds, and Charlie himself had an awesome reputation locally.

It was Moore's misfortune to run into Duran when Duran was hungry and on a mission to hurt somebody. The early rounds of the Duran fight were close and he landed some big leather on Roberto.

Canelo has nowhere near Duran's ability to roll with punches, his razor sharp reactions or his relentless stamina.

I think Moore vs Canelo would be a close, action packed fight that could go either way. Frankly if Moore came in on fire and Canelo was a little cold, Davey could bust his ass up.

He is ducking GGG, I doubt he would even face Davey Moore.

Canelo is a relatively slow and plodding fighter, without much head movement. He is not busy at all.

I would expect Moore to exploit those flaws. He would make him fight and not back off. I still remember that light punching Floyd keeping Canelo at bay.

Moore would probably do okay early and then start taking a beating after waving his chin out.

Davie Moore is far busier and has more offensive skill than Canelo. If Moore can beat Benitez then he can beat Canelo.

Come on. Benitez was trash for that fight and turned his ankle. He probably would've met the same fate against Cornelius Bumdrage, let alone Canelo.

Canelo has slow legs but fast hands (throws very fast combinations in particular). He's great with guys who bring the fight to him, limited against those who do not. Moore is the former.

And Canelo uses more head movement than people realize.

And why are you overlooking Moore's flaws? Extremely reckless fighter who attacked people with wide punches while leaving himself exposed and taking all kinds of unnecessary punches. Tailor-made for Canelo.

    :deal Beat me to it.

And how was Moore more "offensively skilled"?

I pretty much agree with this. I don't think this is an easy fight for either fighters.

He wasn't. He was more aggressive and active, but also vulnerable.

In my opinion, Moore is just busier, quicker, throws more combinations and most importantly has much more heart than Canelo.

This fight would not be won on technique. Moore would take him into deep waters, test his will, heart and stamina.
