Agreed. Though I personally think Canelo's performance in the first fight is being underrated. But in some ways it was more impressive in the rematch how he walked through fire to land more heavy power shots. What's interesting is that even those who had GGG winning both fights, are split on which fight GGG did better in. Some GGG fans say GGG did better in the rematch. He certainly finished stronger in the last 3 rounds in the rematch, the problem was he was well behind after the first 7/8 rounds. Of course Canelo outworked GGG in the first 7/8 rounds, not by punches thrown but by how often he loaded up with heavy shots. In the first fight, GGG lost the early rounds, but then asserted himself in rounds 5-9 and had a lead going into the late rounds, only to see Canelo finish the last 3 rounds strong. What I'm interested in seeing is how they fight the 3rd fight. The first 2 fights were fought with each fighter fighting with such different styles, the first fight GGG rarely taking a backwards step, and Canelo using his footwork and making GGG come to him. The rematch though was the complete opposite, with GGG off the backfoot, his back never touching the ropes, but still backing away more, instead of trying to chase a fleet-footed Canelo as was the case in the first fight. I expect Canelo to try and walk him down again, but too much aggression from Canelo could backfire if GGG is ready to implement a counter punching game. Canelo has vowed to get a stoppage himself, we could actually see a toe to toe "Mexican Style" war with both fighters coming forward trying to land big shots which could be crazy. But even then it's hard to see a stoppage with both fighters having granite chins, but anything's possible. It could be a very fan friendly fight.
I know Fury v Usyk is, that's kinda my point, with all the noise at HW this has gone completely under the radar.
Look I know sometimes Judges make wrong decisions after all they are only human but to impugn their integrity is another thing saying they are corrupt and receiving bribes is another. Imagine I or others making up negative heinous stories about you without concrete basis. Be annoyed with the judges, disagree with them but keep perspective that is all I am saying.
Thats if you don't acknowledge anything Cotto did. It was the Canelo show, nothing Cotto did counted. Actually when it comes to the Canelo corruption subject, it's not even up for debate, its just a world wide known fact. That being said, i look forward to the fight.
The way i see the 2nd fight is, playing it at regular speed, Golovkin wins close, slowing it down Golovkin wins wide. Alot of Canelo's body shots were blocked. Canelo looked impressive with his body language and throwing the shots, giving the impression that everything he through was landing, while Golovkin seldom missed. It was a great fight. If they didn't robb Golovkin the first time, then the 2nd fight would be considered close and controversial, but they did. I have zero sympathy for the flack Canelo gets that is the price you pay for stealing a draw out of the jaws of defeat. Now the powers that be don't even try to hide it. There is no accountability for their crimes. GGG has to win by Ko.
GGG has to f-him up to win. Plain and simple. Which is possible. I would like to see Canelo added to the GGG ko highlight reel.
The problem is, they know the script. If Canelo wins everybody is happy and the judges get called for the next assignment and big payday. Nobody wants to **** off their boss. The judges showed their unwavering loyalty to the Canelo's cause in the Bivol fight, making a 10-2 fight one round from being a draw. They were wise enough not to give it to give it to Canelo though. That would be just too horrendous.
