i know its been beaten to death, i almost couldn't be bothered with it, but i like to be balanced and i was on here calling it a robbery, so only right to point out where i feel I may have got it wrong.

I watched round 6 about 3 times last night, and i couldn't give it to Golovkin, 3:00-2:30, GGG bosses him, lands a few good right hands, 2:30-2:00, Canelo does the same to him, 2:00-1:00, was "what you prefer", Canelo was on the backfoot and landed more punches than GGG, although GGG was walking him down, and landed a good right hand. 1:00-0:45, Canelo was on the ropes, GGG was touching him up there, then Canelo comes off the ropes, lands a huge right hand, followed by a combination, where 1 or 2 landed and a few missed and for the rest of the round Canelo landed more punches. i can see a GGG round, but definitely not clear.

Your third scoring is the way I have it. Canelo 1,2,3,6,10,11,12. Canelo has the best case for those rounds. You’re reaching if you gave Golovkin any of those rounds. Also you have to look at the performances. Both weren’t that good but you have to pay attention to the limitations imposed. Golovkin’s power was taken away. His body punching was taken away. His aggressive nature was not present even when Canelo was tired on the ropes.

Look at what Floyd was able to do against Canelo on the ropes and then what Golovkin did to Canelo against the ropes. Floyd was more successful and far more economical. Canelo did not look like a savvy defensive fighter against Floyd. We all saw Floyd toy this dude.

Golovkin stood there and timidly threw jabs while Canelo was on the ropes and couldn’t pin him allowing Canelo to escape virtually whenever he wanted to.

Now let’s talk about Canelo’s problem. It all can be summed up to conditioning and fatigue. Sure Golovkin kept constant pressure but other than helping a guy with a reputation of getting tired, what effective punches are you actually landing against this tired fighter?

Golovkin fans want to act like Golovkins jab was just out of this world stellar that night. Understand that if this was remotely even the case, then why did HBO only highlight one of them for the entire fight? Because even his jab wasn’t that effective. It was more of a “hey judges, look I’m busier” type of jabs. They were not clean,hard-plush jabs. They were as Golovkin would say, “little tink, tinks”, and we all know this.

Canelo landed the cleaner, more solid easily seen connected punches all night long. This is an undeniable fact. So when you pro G crowd sit here and say it was an outright robbery. What you’re really crediting is G showed more effort. He wasn’t the more effective fighter. You’re giving credit for something that isn’t even a scoring criteria.

The rounds G won were mainly due to effort. It wasn’t because he was landing these devastating punches that were rocking Canelo and sending him backwards. They were default rounds where Canelo simply was not throwing punches. The rounds Canelo won, he landed the better punches and his defense was enough to nullify Golovkin’s effort. And Canelo did just that in the rounds I listed. Even a good portion of the rounds Golovkin won like round 9. Canelo still landed the best punches in the round.

The reality that needs to be accepted from everybody on both sides of the fence is the fight was ruled a draw. Canelo limited Golovkin more in that fight. He landed the better punches of the fight. Golovkin just helped Canelo’s gas tank drain faster but he did not overcome him in an effective manner as far as landing punches.

It was a draw but gun to my head, I would have no problem stating Canelo actually won if we want to play the robbery game. Because in my OPINION, Canelo won and was robbed. EFFECTIVENESS will always be the better case over EFFORT. But in REALITY, the fight is a DRAW. People rely on alternate reality too much now days.

118-110 card was a heavy attempt of a robbery and the only way for it to be a draw, you’d have to give Canelo every close round and if that’s not bias, I don’t know what is.

So 2 of 3 cards clearly biased. Was it a robbery ? Absolutely.
I’d probably let it slide if not for ginger’s history with highly favourable scorecards, 114-114 vs Floyd being one of the most obvious ones.

I dont get people who claims things as facts, but offer no link. #fakenews

If a fight is close then it can't be a robbery but nature. The scorecards can be off, but the end results aren't.

You have to score it 3 times to have it a canelo win lol.
It is a robbery, and I hate this word!! What I meant and stand by it, is that it is a wrong verdict.
And I dislike scoring fight more than once. The first one is the one that count.
The second time or the third time, your thinking is clouded, cause you have known the outcome and it influence your judgement.
I had it GGG 8-4 but couldn't argue with anyone who had it 7-5. But really have to bend over backward for canelo to have it 6-6.
People who had canelo winning lose my respect and I usually don't feel the need to discuss boxing with them.

Some fair points indeed, and I do actually think it was closer than most realize. I don't call it a robbery for that reason, what was truly outrageous was the 118-110 card.

However I do think it was the wrong decision; I've watched it three times and had Golovkin winning 7-5 every time.

    i had a canelo W the 3rd time???

my thinking wasn't clouded at all. as i said, if anything, i'd be more biased against Canelo. That's fine, i don't covet respect and you don't need to discuss it, but i think people were too focused on the fact canelo was going backward and GGG hunting him down. GGG simply wasn't landing enough for me

I've watched the fight three times and every time had Golovkin winning.

Was it a robbery? depends what you regard as a robbery, we have all seen far far worse.

What does make it look off and corrupt is the 118-110 Canelo card, that is criminal and to be fair I've not even seen Canelo fans defending that scorecard.

My bad. I thought you had GGG 7-5 the third viewing.
I usually read very fast lol.
The rest of my points stand.
I don't like second or third judging.
Watch it the 4th time you might have the same score as adalaide Byrd lol.

i think RD1 could definitely be given to Golovkin, same goes for 10 i think it was. i agree, i think if GGG took advantage of Canelo on the ropes, he'd have won clearly for me, but he was so gun shy and Canelo was slipping most of what GGG was throwing on the ropes. his jab up until about 5 or 6 was so timid and not like i'm used to seeing. i do believe a few of the rounds GGG won were given to the "aggressor", but Golovkin did land quite a few big shots throughout the fight.

I've seen it 3 times and had Canelo winning every time 7-5.

Canelo landed the better shots and made GGG very hesitant to throw his power punches, thus taking advantage and scoring crisp combinations while moving beautifully off the back foot. A feat many people felt was impossible because Canelo supposedly had "cement feet". GGG had his moments, but he lost in my eyes.

i think what makes it a robbery to people is, as you say, the 118-110 & Don Trella's RD 7 to Canelo. I've got no arguments with that score tbh, i can definitely see that

two of the three judges scored the fight fair.
the third one was an ******* paid by GBP
I think with an objective third judge GGG would have won a MD decision here, but it could also be a draw
I would not call it "ggg badly robbed" but it has some strange taste of course

still it was a close fight with a couple of very close rounds like for example the LSC/Abner Mares fight last weekend where you can score it in each possible way but LSC taking the decision feeling more right than a draw or Mares taking a decision....

so give us the second fight, this time clenelo pedvarez off the juice and then receiving a beatdown by GGG

i don't think i'll ever get to that point as outside of the rounds i gave to Canelo, there is no way Canelo won any others. Round 6 could definitely go either way, for a change from the dynamic of the fight, GGG landed the cleaner punches, but Canelo landed more for me. Round 1 was a bit of a feeling out round, and upon reflecting, i could give that to GGG based on his jab work which brings it to a draw, but i don't feel that way about the other rounds
