Canelo is the man if this is for real. GGG wouldn't even do this. Cinnamon will surely go down as one of the greatest Mexican fighter of all time, certainly top 3. Even if Canelo loses, you have to give him respect. Kovalev was right up there with Ward/Loma/Crawford as P4P best.

If it turns out to be true it’s full 175, no drugging and canelo wins clearly with no controversy.....then yes I would agree

I really like this fight. If it weren't for Oscar I'd be a big Canelo fan. Fortunately Oscar has a shining moment for once and is letting this fight take place at 175, assuming everyone he is to be believed. If Canelo comes short against Kovalev I'm not going to hold it against him. I fully expect Kovalev to win but if Canelo does beat him I'll put him at p4p #1.

Why so soon? It's too quick of a turnaround for Kovalev to have a full 6 week camp. His last fight was somewhat grueling, there's no way he can be in good form for this fight. Canelo wins Kovalev will be gassed within the first 6 rounds.

If Canelo is standing after 12 rounds he is winning. No other recent fighter in the sport has had as bizarre and questionable scorecards as Canelo.

Agreed. It’s kind of a win/win for Oscar an canelo.

They do obviously fancy their chances, and if they win clearly then no doubt this is a stand out elite win.

If canelo makes it close, draws, or has kov in trouble they’ll be praised for ‘daring to be great’.....

If he gets a dodgy decision or even draw the public really will start to get sick of Oscar and his bulls.hit

If canelo gets absolutes battered and iced in 3 rounds it might be a bit more damaging however

There’s methods behind madness.....throw big money to a past best kov out of a tough fight, thus giving him a 6 week camp.

Also kov did catch some massive punishment in round 8, 6 weeks may not be enough to clear the head regarding balance and chin aka James de gale.

Oscar is notorious for stacking the deck

Kovalev was nearly knocked out a couple of weeks ago. How on earth is he going to start camp and participate in competitive sparring with zero recovery time? It shouldn't even be sanctioned it seems clearly dangerous. This is the definition of a cash grab. And 6 weeks isn't even a real camp it should be 10-12 weeks he's screwed.

Kov is finally getting the big money.

He may find himself ‘James de galed’ by fight night. Head still not clear, balance gone, timing off and chin shaky

If it's 175 and no foul scorecards I will be thankful to Canelo for making this daring and very interesting fight. I don't know that any other fighter would.

A fast turn around I think is a good thing for Kovalev. He doesn't seem the type of man who would benefit from having free time on his hands.

Na I feel kov needs 3 months minimum.

He got absolutely hammered in the 8th by yarde, despite his inexperience is extremely heavy handed. Kov might not even be medically fit to spar for another couple of weeks.

If he gets hurt in sparring he risks permanent concussion

    Kovalev KO late, maybe early.

Canelo is really going to far with this one

I reckon kov will stay away from canelo, preserve the gas tank and jab again and again.

Canelo isn’t known to be a particularly fast starter, and will gradually try to get under kovs jab to get to the body.

I would say this fight is going over 6 rounds

If this was the Kovalev of the cleverly fight then I genuinely think canelo would get blasted out within 6 rounds. Although I don’t think Oscar would allow canelo to fight that version.

Kovalev is still A class, but now is shop worn coming off a tough defence with 6 weeks to prepare.

    This can be the difference
