Canelo v Smith

    Seeing as I know nothing about Liam Smith even though I'm from the UK I'd like to know if anyone thinks if Smith has a chance against Canelo?
    Are they equal in weight as that would be something for Smith to be on even terms.
    I do think Canelo has an iron chin and going off some of the crazy scoring in his previous fights you'd think Smith would have to do the seemingly impossible in KOing Canelo to win though I've read that he can punch to the body well which may pay off if Canelo does make weight at 154?
    There are some who say Canelos all hype and those who just love him and his business moves,he can't be all that bad as nobody expects him to lose anytime soon so,I'm not clued up enough to know about style match ups so I'm interested to know if Liam Smith can spoil Canelos party?

    You have to KO Canelo to win. Smith will not do that.

    Canelo is levels above smith, it's an A-level fighter vs a C-level fighter.
    It won't go 6 rounds

    thanks for the answer,weeks ago that was my opinion and then you start to read these articles and suddenly Ifound myself being Lemieuxed,After the GGG v Lemieux fight I vowed not get Lemieuxed again.

    Alvarez to dominate and win via referee stoppage in later rounds. Smith's a tough kid and I can't see him being knocked out cold like Khan, but he poses little threat. **** fight - more interested in who Canelo fights after.

    I am almost certain Smith will beat Canelo, he will not get caught like Khan and he will out work Canelo in most of the rounds. I have never been as sure of a fight, good time to make some money as Vegas is hoping and praying that Canelo who is a decent draw wins.

    The fact one judge had Canelo up on the cards against Khan at the time of that stoppage suggest Smith needs a KO for a draw.

    Smith will go to the US, Canelo will come in over the 154 limit because he has made it clear he is moving up again after this so Canelo isn't going to kill himself to make 154 for a belt he has no intention of keeping also he can just give Smith a few quid and Smith will take it.

    Then Smith will probably be given a shot at the vacant title as FW is close to the WBO, so Smith gets a payday, Canelo gets a win and everybody is happy.

    Liam will be overwhelmed by the Level of Talent that Canelo possesses. Beefy Smith has never faced anyone near the Level of Alvarez... The way Canelo puts punches together are going to break down Liam. I don't see the Englishman being Knock out cold, but rather busted up and broken down and probably have his corner wave it off.

    it's a farce of a PPV fight in all honesty

    So Canelo really is a huge favourite then?
    Some would have you believe Canelo is poor but he's not that bad is he,sure he was getting out boxed by Khan but that's what always happens in Khan fights until he gets knocked out.

    I'm going out on a limb and saying that Canelo's weight cut is going to go bad and Smith is going to take him to hell and back. Smith will win the fight but get robbed by the judges :deal

    Canelo is a good, maybe excellent fighter. He's got the skills. It's the size of his bals that is troubling :twisted:
