Canelo is another Vargas, There putting hem with the big boys way too early, Both had/have no conditioning and experience, They both get tired very quick, "DLH vs Vargas" great example.

The precociously ferocious one would've snapped that cinnamon stick in his teeth, prime for prime.

Its far from a Vargas case.

Vargas was thrown in with lions in DLH/Tito, who were themselves big and strong and could punch/end fights. Floyd will put a masterclass performance on Canelo, but he won't damage him for the rest of his career ala Vargas-Tito.

I think Canelo has his stuff together much more than Vargas ever had.

    Mentally he seems much cooler

Very true (the Ulises Solis incident notwithstanding :!:...maybe that can be chalked up to passions of youth)

Still, h2h in a time machine I think he gets absolutely torn limb from limb.

Vargas was better then Canelo. Canelo has had more fights then Vargas had when he was thrown to the big dogs. Mayweather can't "ruin" a fighter like Trinidad can.

There is little doubt about that.

I think only Doc would think Canelo beats a primed Vargas.

But still, all in all.. this is a genuinely ppv worthy fight. :smoke

Prime for Prime Canelo would beat Vargas up badly. Canelo got a solid defense and size. They both fade but Canelo's defense + size will be the difference.

Meaning one way traffic in terms of getting hit.

Come on, man. Jose Cotto stunned him. Prime Feroz? Rips him in half.

Yes, but I also think that this Canelo rips the Canelo that got stunned by Cotto apart.

That fight is over 3 years ago when he was still a teenager

Vargas had great conditioning, I don't know what your saying. Just watch the Vargas-Wright fight. That fight was going at a tremendous pace and Vargas kept up the whole 12 rounds.

Fair point but I still don't see the Canelo of Mosley/Lopez/Trout hanging with the Vargas of Campas/Marquez/Wright/Quartey/Trinidad
