My guess is we are getting 2-3 really good fights out of this card and the main event promises to be an early candidate for FOTY. There is a chance that Canelo will spoil this by fighting in full-on defensive mode once he tastes Angulo's power but IMO Perro's pressure will force Canelo to fight.
Even though I initially thought this was going to be a banger, I had a dream last night that Angulo got knocked down 3 times in the first and TKO'd. Very lucid and felt sad when I woke up but didn't know why until I remembered my dream. That being said, I don't know.
I been telling myself for months NO WAY would i pay to watch nelo pummel ngulo. i never liked angulo, actually hated him, thought he was a bully but when he found resistance he turned to a *****. when he quit against lara really turned me off. how hurt could he seriously have been ? he didnt have any shattered bones and didnt need any emergency surgery so that really turned me off. and ANYONE at 54 that loses to kirkland canNOT be a top tier fighter or warrior. I'm totally screwed now, he has power. i have watched the lara fight along with that 20 yr old mexi fight (if he was a true 54 lber he wouldve crushed angulo) but has a place in my heart and thats from the episode with hi daughter and the fact he was locked up fort he 8 months, he wanted to give up bur he didnt. anyone that has been locked up for even more than a weel realizes that is without a questions so much harder than ANY other thing in life. i am suckered in to ordering now but sadly i see angulo taking a beating. maybe his relentless power and attack will change things. maybe he did simply punch himself out vs james.. ANYone that had been through it knows w hen you truly punch yourself out there is NOTHING you can do. you kinda want to but you're so severly dead its hard enough to stand never mind dealing with a pro fighter who is trying to take you out. i am NOW predicting a very tough fight with Nelo stopping him in the 7th or 8th round. i will be sad because EL is such a great and heart felt story
I have and i have only been a fan since 2008 i believe. Usually the result is the opposite of what i see. (sucker for the underdog)
I think Arakawa/Figueroa is the stand out fight on the card Going to have to be sensational to be better than Kogawa/Yodmongkol or Brizuela/Coyle
mind you guys, if Arakawa is to beat Linares then we will soon see a rematch with Figueroa :hey WBC final eliminator :deal
I agree with a lot of what you said. The way I look at the Kirkland fight, you have Angulo dropping a guy who was KD 3 times by a featherfisted asian in the first round and I think he was just thinking to himself that because of what Ishida did, Angulo was going home in 1 round with a nice paycheck and an easy win. It was a stupid mistake that I bet he never makes again. When you punch yourself out, you really can't recover. The only way I can compare it is if you take someone in great shape, and have them run 10 miles with an elite marathon runner at their pace. The person in great shape can run the 10 miles sure enough, but he probably gasses out trying to pace at a much higher level than he has trained for. Angulo quitting in the Lara fight does raise questions for me too. In a fight he could have won too. Maybe I don't know the full story though.
No way in hell will it be a dud. Just not possible. I think it's going to be highly contested and we will see both men hurt in this fight.
I'm looking forward to it. Should be a good fight, has potential to be a special fight I think. Could go either way. I fancy Canelo to win, but I think Angulo has it in him to put Canelo on the canvas.
Perro still had the cornrows and everything, it was crazy. I've had more than a few dreams about boxing, but it's usually me doing the fighting. They happen most often when I go through spurts of actually working out on the bags.
