Multiple titles has NOTHING to do with it TT. Canelo doesn't even have a belt at 176. And IF he got a title shot immediately at CW, there WILL be a catchweight. You know that.

 

AGAIN, BJ just has to say no. Let the pressure mount on Canelo to take a tougher fight, I think Canelo is just tossing names out at this point.

You're looking at this from a typical fan POV and that's understandable. Canelo/Benavidez is the fight we all want to see.

Canelo understands that a belt in another division would do more for his legacy than a fight with Benavidez.

Cash cows get title shots regardless due to money, not challenges. Why do you think canelo is targeting the weakest CW? A CW w/o a good win in 5 years and is near 40.

He sure as **** isn't trying to fight anyone else rated higher at CW

 

This fight is high risk low reward. If he wins so what you beat an old Jack who was never that good to begin with. If you lose then you lost to an average guy and it hurts your legacy. Not that I agree with it but just saying how alot of people will see it.

 

Canelo will not stay at CW. Just like he did not stay at 175.

 

?? I feel nothing for Canelo actually. Ive said this many times. I was praying to whomever that Golovkin KO'd him in their 3rd fight. Big stars get big title fights/undeserved because it flashes their belts on the boxing mainstream sites, tv circuits, etc. and these big stars are paying fees to get these undeserved title shots. Pac, Floyd, DLH, SRL, are no strangers to this.

This goes all the way back to the color line when it was mafia ran.

 

That's not much different than Pac going to 154 to meet Margarito at a catchweight and then moving back down. Regardless of how you feel about Jack, he is a legit belt-holder, something Margarito was not.

 

Tell me how many times each of those have jumped to a weight class, went back down, moved up again WHILE holding belts in another, and now bypassing another division for what will be a catchweight fight no where near the weight limit.

I believe we're actually on the same page with this. Did Floyd still have the 130 crown when he leapfrogged everyone for the LW title fight against JLC? I watch too many fights and there are just too many title fights for me to care about. As long as the fighters are making money, I don't care. Who did Manny beat at LW before his shot against Diaz? Marquez vs Manny at welter? (I'm all for all of this, btw, I'm not their managers) DLH (Castijello, Sturm)
