This is one of the best fights that has been on PPV in the last few years outside of Fury vs Wilder. If Luis Ortiz, Thurman and Tank are PPV then so is Canelo vs Bivol

That would be amazing. A third fight with GGG wouldn't be nearly as interesting. Several more exciting options for Canelo.

Canelo is only having quality fights nowadays. Brilliant to watch.

I have zero interest in the trilogy fight.

Even if Golovkin destroys Murata, which I don't think he will, a victory at this stage at 168 doesn't really mean anything. Although aside from Benavidez it's probably the best defence he could make at 168.

Golovkin isn't beating Canelo now. 2016 he'd have stopped him, 2017 he should have beaten him on points. Every year since then it's gone further in favour towards Canelo.

That's fair but that's not how things are done now.

Yeah, Benavidez is the only fight at 168 that holds any real interest for me. Even if GGG looks good against Murata it's very hard to see him at 40 hang in there well in the championship rds against Canelo at 168. He's got nothing to lose and everything to win in this fight, though, with the opposite being true for Canelo. Except money of course.

I think this is a great fight, and think that Bivol at the top of his game has the the tools to execute a plan that can beat Canelo.

Bivols judging of distance is excellent, he picks his shots well and has great combos when he lets his hands go.

So he has the capability, and the pop to keep Canelo honest and make him reset constantly.

What remains to be seen is whether Canelo can get in close and work Bivol's body - if he can't it could be a long night for Alvarez.

What maybe concerns me the most about Bivol is he always seems to fight within himself and coast for stretches of fights, and that does not bode well against Canelo; Bivol needs to dominate in the same fashion as Usyk did against AJ to get a decision IMO.

Apparently a third fight is essentially tacked on as well.

    Makabu/Ryder are in the mix.

If Canelo slows the pace right down he can select the right shots to hurt Bivol

If Bivol has a high tempo, work rate, can reset Canelo and constantly moves and levels his attack that's his best chance.

I can see Bivol winning the first 2.5 minutes and then Canelo flurrying and launching an attack to steal the rounds.

Bivol beats the **** out of Canelo in a real fight. This will be fixed guaranteed. Sparring session ahoy

I have no respect for team canelo at all, they have a Top world class fighter yet they have to stack the decks everytime. With the GGG fight its all a bit to late , if Hearns had any influence it should be anywhere but las vegas but in reality this is a last hoorah for GGG & I don't mind him getting the payday...at least he will give an honest account of himself unlike kovalev & Smith etc ...which is what still bothers team Canelo..

Good post and I agree with it. GGG has been slowing down every year and while he still looks good I dunno whether he's got the speed to bother canelo anymore. He's going to need a new plan for taking care of ginger. Benavidez would be a great fight.

But it will be if more fights have rehydration clauses.
