But as I said the 'real' numbers will come out and in not sure how lying effects actual revenue?

Why lie with 'over 600k'? Why not just say 1 million buys if it's all about trying to give a false narrative?

That's not forgetting team Canelo and how it effects them.

How will the numbers come out? DAZN has the numbers, no one else...

And because over a million isn't realistic, if you're going to lie you want a realistic figure. Over a million buys on an app most people don't know about for Canelo Vs an "unknown" russian, who Canelo was meant to beat, no chance.

How does it affect team Canelo? He gets paid what he gets paid, how does Hearn making up a false number affect him? It affects him positively as it keeps up the appearance he's a global star and makes people think he is no matter who he fights

Just how any other ppv numbers come out in the US. They very rarely are revealed officially but the ppv platforms leak numbers.

You don't think team Canelo would be looking to exit if his money suffered such a significant drop?

I really don't understand why it's that hard to believe that Hearn is actually being truthful.

It's Canelo alverez and his more than capable of generating over 600k buys.

And the numbers have leaked and they are leaked at 300k .....

Canelo is in a contract isn't he so he can't just exit? Even if he's not he wants the Bivol rematch and he's controlled by Hearn

Hearn lies soooooo much he's just a usual car salesman and bending the truth to suit him is second nature

Canelo can do 600k but on this occasion on the little known platform against the little known russian he done 300k

Someone explain to me how bad 300k actually is? I never bother with PPV numbers, revenue etc.

Lol so now you believe the number of ppv bought direct on DAZN can indeed leak. Make your mind up? Do the DAZN numbers leak or not?

I would be amazed if Canelo never had a get out clause inserted. I fail to believe he would risk seeing such a drop in revenue for two fights with a new ppv platform.

I know the desire to see a ppv flop is huge but just accept Canelo is a star and draws ppv buys no matter what.

It would still be higher than 99% of all other boxing PPVs in the US but would be a huge drop for Canelo. The plant fight did 800,000 buys so I think the lowest they would expect would be 500k but even that to be me wouldnt really make sense.

A star like Canelo does not see a drop of 500,000 for a ppv fight. Just can't see it.

Someone in on twitter who releases all the gate sales etc, said he had heard from some of the "top journalists" the 300,000 number and was hoping some would actually pipe up.

I believe the leaked number if it's believable, which would be low as it's an unknown app and an unknown russian who Canelo was meant to beat. Zero real buzz

The ppv was a flop by all accounts from everyone not named Eddie Hearn.

Dunno why you just blindly eat whatever Eddie spoon feeds you but you should apply common sense and also believe the majority Vs the singular person with the vested interest in making it look good

The PPV platforms can leak the numbers but traditional PPV (ie cable TV buys) would have been a small percentage of the total number. No other platform would have access to buys made directly through DAZN.

It is still 25% lower than his last fight even at the 600,000 so not a glorious success

Shouldn’t go up against a UFC PPV. The arrogance of boxing promoters who do this and think it will end well for them.
