First thing first I like Brook his a very well balanced and well round fighter, great jab and goes well to the body. But I think people are overreacting over this GGG fight. I've been hearing people say Brook now dominates Canelo and some people even go as far as to say he stops him. The same Brook that went life and death with Porter had to clinch for dear life. Canelo is a duck thats for sure but let's be honest he is world class, great counter punch and upper body movement, goes well to the body and can mix up his punches. At 26 the guy has fought some of the most trickiest operators from Mayweather to Lara to cotto. Would it be a competitive fight? Yes, could either man win it on the night? Yes. Is brook gunna stop or dominate him? Hell no! If you think Brook stops him I'm willing to bet anyone he doesn't if this fight happens and i will happily go to the bookies and pick Canelo if the odds are 1/2 or above.
I have to agree, it makes for a great fight. GGG was the first time I have been impressed with Brook, the mandatory challengers tell us nothing and he was poor vs Porter and could have lost. Canelo is a really strange guy but a top quality fighter, can Brook beat Canelo? Yes he can but it will be really tough When Brook is at his best his punch selection is great and he needs that on top form to beat Canelo, Brook can find shots from strange angles and time shorts perfectly with good accuracy but GGG aside Brook hasn't fought anyone top quality at any weight Will be an interesting fight, I will be cheering on Brook hoping for an upset! And TBH i think this fight will go ahead, lots of money in it, will be in USA and Canelo's camp will see this as another Amir Khan that they can bowl over. One to keep an eye on... But first Canelo has to beat Smith which won't be too easy for him, KO in the 8th for me
Good fight! Right now I'd have to favour Canelo but would be interested to see how Brook manages at that weight seeing as he did manage to hold his own for a while at 160!
