The only way smith wins this is by k.o and canelo's chin is A+++ so can't see it tbh.if he goes out and has a real go at ginge I'll be happy enough.

Ryder made easy work of Smith so I don't see canelo having much trouble!!

I hope more than think that Smith has a real chance in this if he keeps out of range and uses his size to his advantage, I just have visions of him getting caught with a body shot like his brother did. I want Smith to win, for Boxing and for British Boxing, I'm bored of Alvarez now too.

I think it would rejuvenate interest in Canelo's fights as well. I, as well as most people assume that if it goes to a decision, Canelo wins irrespective of whether that is a true reflection of the fight.

Canelo is like a train very hard to derail , good chin , well conditioned, punches with either hand and moves head well. He can be outboxed as Mayweather , Lara and to some degree GGG showed. Height and reach can or should be an advantage for Smith ? But I am sure Canelo is well versed at solving that problem so Smith needs to also be able to hurt the Ginger one very early on. Tough ask for Callum and he needs a massive improvement to the performance he showed against Ryder , I hope he can.

In my eyes Canelo definitely lost to ggg first fight and and argument can be made he also lost the second,

the way I'm looking at this is that I have always thought, that groves and smith would be far to big and hard hitting against somebody like ggg, so I can definitely make a case for smith beating Canelo,

canelo has a great chin and everybody keeps raving about his body punching , but he is now up against one of the best body punchers in the game in smith.

Going to be a great fight, if smith lands clean first couple I really think Canelo will have second thoughts about trying to fight on the inside.

Smith would be a big 175lber if he fought there so must be a nightmare to make weigh for him.must have to stick him in the tumble dryer for a couple of days.

He would, I agree mate. Think he should have stepped up 2 years ago after beating Groves. He’s hung around at this weight for too long. 6”3, boiling himself down to 12 stone for 7 years. He’s been well and truly screwed over by Canelo by being given only 4 weeks to prepare. I think that if he makes it to the championship rounds, he’ll have to hang on for dear life cos his gas tank will be empty and battered.

He's freakish big can't get my head around it..I'm 6'1 and naturally quite lean but haven't been near 12st since my early twenties! Looking forward to this one actually, although I've gave smith pelters I would love to see him pull the upset off.

Same mate, I’m just over 6 foot and was 12 stone when I was 20. Nearly 15 stone now. Can only dream of getting near 13 never mind 12.

I’ve just watched this fight again. I think I may have got caught up with the emotion on the night as I had it 7-5 Ryder. However, watching it again, I scored it 6-6 and I could see an argument for 7-5 Smith. I think I have to hold my hand up and say that on the night Ryder did better than expected so I scored more for him.

Anyway, it’s worth watching again as you can see that Callum really struggled with Ryder’s dimensions at times. Ryder was able to navigate the long levers of Callum’s as the fight went on and got on the inside. Obviously I’m guessing, but if Canelo watched this fight he’ll have felt that Smith was made for him. Btw, Callum is hurt in the 11th.
