Before beating Kovalev Canelo said millions times that he is a champion in three weight divisions. That was because he considers a win of the bogus WBA "regular" belt at 168 lbs as a real title depite the fact, that onwer of that belt was knocked out in 1 round by a real WBA champion Callum Smith. So what can prevent Caneko from climbing to the HW division and try to get a WBA "regular" belt from Manuel Charr? He can claim then that he is 5-divisions world champion and the first former super welterweight champion to win the title in the heavyweight division. And his fanboys will buy it like they did with Rocky Fielding's bogus title. Canelo's team will promote a fight against Charr as biggest challenge in the history of boxing, while it won't be a huge challenge at all. Charr is awful - even in his prime he was borderline top 30 guy in his division, and now after brutal KTFO loss to Briedis, bad injury in result of shooting and 2 years of inactivity he will be even worse. Look, James Toney, former middleweight who was only 1 inch taller than Canelo and was well past his prime at 37, beat John Ruiz, who was levels above Charr, even the best vrsion of Manuel. I think I would heavily favor Canelo to beat Charr if this fight happens just like I did for his fight against Kovalev.
OMG I said this a while back ... and what a bad idea that was Charr is super old and really sucks and the fact he has a belt shows how pathetic the HW division really is. Clenelo is probably wetting himself at the thought Of course, there will be a weight clause as well
Charr doesn't fight ... he just sits around wearing that regular belt. No-one can take it away from him if he doesn't fight anyone.
