This could do more than the cotto fight

    Cotto vs Martinez did 125k

    Chavez vs Martinez did 500k

Smart business decision from everyone involved

Would not surprise me if this one hit the million mark. It's a big fight for both, and hard to blame them for making it.

168, and steps on the scales while eating a cheeseburger. "Ooops. Heh he he"

    Cotto vs Martinez did 350k

I can see this fight breaking a million buys at most
At the low end probably 600k

This is an incredible fight, but Chavez Jr is no boxer to be underestimated, let's not forget he KO'd Andy Lee who has some extreme power as a middleweight.

Canelo is taking a huge risk here, especially with the GGG fight scheduled for September.
If canelo wins and it hits the 1 million mark, making Canelo a 500k+ PPV fighter - I can see De La Hoya postponing the GGG fight into 2018

Well, after Islam's name as mentioned I'm just glad that Canelo isn't fighting him. It's not my #1 choice for Canelo's next opponent, but it'll be fun to watch + it ought to do well on ppv.

Canelo and Chavez right now are equivalent to Morales and Barrera back then when they had their rivalry! This has been a fight, fight fans have talked about for years! Both fighters have their legions of fans and the atmosphere is going to be tremendous that night! I'm a fan of both, but I think Canelo is going to win... I may be neutral though, idk.

There were rumours floating about ... I'm sure you're jolly pleased that it's not happening too!

He was talked about, and quite frankly I would have been disappointed had Canelo went with him over Chavez.

I'm pretty sure Mr. Kush would be calling it a great business move to promote the fight with GGG because they're from the same nation.

Cherrypicking could be wrong, if Chavez Jr. comes heavier than expected.

Agreed, it's a massive fight for sure.

Although it should've happened earlier @154 lb or something IMHO. We don't really know how much Chavez Jr has left and whether he can make weight without being too drained. And Canelo will be able to enjoy a fight he doesn't have to drain himself for. For that reason I think Canelo takes it, but I'll be rooting for Chavez Jr. What a great comeback story if he did win it.

Another plus side is that it increases the chance of Canelo-GGG this year IMHO, Canelo is not likely to fight the 168lb guys (and there's no big stars there), and he's not going back to 154 lb after this. So the logical next fight is GGG, and as you know I expect K2 to take the $15 million or GBP to offer an equivalent percentage to get that one done.
