Come on now. You know that isn't true. Mosley stopped himself. He retired from an injury. That fight was terrible. Mundine looked terrible & Mosely looked like he was there simply for the pay cheque. It says on record he won by stoppage, but anyone who saw the fight knew that it wasn't because of Mundine. Mundine beat a Mosely that was a walking punching bag & yet he still couldn't get a genuine knock down/KO from the lighter man.
Don't get me wrong. I like Clottey. He's a solid and respectable fighter. He just hasn't had a really big fight in a bit and with the price pay per views are, they have to be something out of this world for me to pay for. Never know if he might get gun shy and not commit to attacking. However I hope he does just the opposite and get the upset. Alvarez is a solid fighter, but I think he is a bit overrated in skill.
That's certainly true and a legitimate reason to not want to pay for this. In fact, I put it at 50-50 whether he shows up for the fight. Skill and ability wise, he's above solid, he's top notch. I'm quite confident he could have beaten Pac had he tried. Pac couldn't get through that defense (and Cotto had a lot of trouble with that, too), and Clottey landed almost whenver he actually made any effort.
Clottey was getting punched so much against Pacquiao, landed and blocked, that although it was a solid reminder what Pacquiao can do, it still cost 70 dollars to see. And there was no drama. The only awe was that Pacquiao reduced him to covering up. Cotto almost lost. Clottey against everyone else always reminds them that they are in a fight. If Clottey is there mentally and physically against Alvarez, he can conceivably win and really shake up the pillars. I get nervous though watching GBP fights. De la Hoya seems to have gotten greedy.
i saw the fight ringside & mundine was timing him VERY well, had shane on ***** st, should have been a knockdown as shane hit the canvas after holding on for dear life, mundine would of stopped him anyway, if it wasnt for his back tightening up. your analysis is CLEARLY BIASED & off target.
I think Clottey is coming to lose. And the fight is in Texas too? Ask Trout how discouraging that was. He'd planned to be the mouse, in a game of cat and mouse, and was forced to become the cat instead, after hearing those 1 sided scores. And he got bambied when he tried to close the gap on the cards. Clottey's a good fighter...WHEN HE FIGHTS. But, if he goes into that eternal shell, Donatello does not have a chance in hell of winning. Canelo throws nothing but combinations. So, it's gonna be a long night for "The Grand Master."
