Cotto in his prime had very good use of his jab . But NOW I would have to say Canelo whos been improving in every fight has the edge .

BTW The force of Canelos jab alone made Trout completely bend over .

    That Canelo is STRONG .

Cotto's jab is slightly better, maybe its because he's left handed, thats why he had such a good left hook but not a very good right hand, whereas Canelo uses the jab as a range finder to unload the right hand.

A good jab is often the last punch a fighter really knows how to use. The featherweight incarnation of Erik Morales looked to make his range-finder more of a weapon to combat the bigger boys.

Canelo's jab is a work in progress - snappy but shy.

In terms of combination punching he is more dynamic & explosive than Cotto ever was.

Any version of "Cotto" up to this point has a much better jab than "Canelo"...

    Canelito is not strong...:deal

Whenever Shane wanted a break he just tied Alvarez up and walked him around...He couldn't do that to Mayweather.

Trout beat him easilly on the inside:yep

    Where's the strength in that??

Seems to me if Canelo were all that strong he would have won the inside battle and made Trout backup all niight.

Trout's jab was supperior..it had Alvarez backing up and those rights to his stomach had him GASSED early.

Really? Cottos jab didnt do **** against Trout, Canelo was able to use it as a range finder for the right hands and to set up body shots... I think at this stage Canelos jab is better but Cotto has gotten older....

I am not banking on Canelos jab to do it for him in this fight I suggest body work and smart boxing as he did with Trout

not even close Cotto all the way, Floyd will make Alvarez look like the B level fighter he is.

Where was Canelito's body attack vs Trout???:think

Trout was the one landed all the bodyshots:deal...and his jab was also far superior..

    Cotto's jab > Canelo's

    Cotto's inside game > Canelo's

Too very different fighters, to be fair on either to compare them..

Cotto better jab, left hook, bodywork, experience.

Canelo better speed, power, combinations, explosiveness
