Duran is 37 years old.....but he beat the bigger Iran Barkley for the
    MW title.

    Barkley:
    height 6′ 1″
    reach 74″

    Canelo:
    height 5′ 8″
    reach 70½

    Duran
    height 5′ 7″
    reach 66″

What happens when ODH / Canelo try their antics
    on Roberto Duran????

I think Canelo by decision. His speed. He would have to box. But he has the speed to control the fight.

I would pick Canelo here, but I am sure I will be in the minority or there will be a few “Duran destroys him but Canelo wins a gift decision” type of responses.

At 154 I think a younger Duran beats him, and that Duran is both greater and better. However Canelo is IMO at the top of his game right now and Duran while still good, would not be good enough....blasphemy lol

Duran is the much, much greater fighter and that will still stand when Canelo hangs up his gloves. But he's at his peak right now, at a weight that is 25 lbs above Duran's best weight. Well, actually more like 35 lbs in reality with today's day before weigh-in. And Canelo is a skilled operator with top hand speed. He should win this.

    Duran destroys Ginger.

But seriously, Duran from Barkley fight would give a very good account of himself against Canelo, due to the styles clash.

I would give it Canelo though, being a larger, skilled fighter at his prime peak.

The exchanges would be very interesting.

    Canelo 12rd Dec.

I think Duran was too far out of his depth at 160. In fact he's the only one of the fab four I'd pick canelo to beat. Duran at Lightweight was a beast but Canelo is far from that and I just think his speed, youth size and reflexes lead him to a UD

I see it the same way as you although I feel like throwing up saying it. I absolutely love Duran.

Okay so maybe my view of Canelo is no where near the respect I have for the legend that is Roberto Duran. But if Duran could go the distance with both Marvin Hagler and Iran Barkley. Winning one and fighting a close fight with an AGT middleweight in Hagler. I gotta pick Duran on this one everyday of the week. Canelo is good in this era but that was a different time with not just a few talents, i mean alot of talents!! Duran was so savy, experienced and could punch even at middleweight maybe lost a bit of power as he moved up but it was hard enough you had to respect it!

Just don't like Canelo's style matchup here. Take both the style's he used against GGG. The first, he played the counterpuncher and mostly stayed on the ropes. I'm not sure how he wins a fight like that against a cagey and experienced Duran. That seems like an odd approach against Duran. I believe his better approach is the way he fought GGG the second time, and being more aggressive and take the fight to Duran. Problem there is, he wasn't swarming or unrelenting so it would tire out Duran. He wasn't throwing combos combined with good pressure. It was more, I'm going to walk you down and hit some big counter shots, again, I'm not sure that is the style to beat even this Duran, but it's better than the former

I feel Duran was much better at 154 when he beat Moore but Canelo would have destroyed Moore also and punches harder to the body than Duran did, Canelo would have beat Barkley more decisively than Duran did.

A possible Duran win here, if it was for Canelo then it's much closer. Duran wouldn't make the mistake of not fighting in the inside like GGG did in the first fight, he'd try and work the body shots and combos. However he's still 3 weights north of his best and Canelo could very well do the same as he does at 160

I would like to see a Canelo vs. Barkley fight. I think Canelo vs. Hearns, Tommy knocks him out. I think that is a good style for Tommy.
