33:9 GGG, but we may need to count 7 "Golovkin by decision" votes in Canelo's favor, as corrupt judges may never give a win to Golovkin.

When have I ever been wrong about predicting the outcome of a Golovkin fight? I may not always peg the round correctly, but I can't think of an instance when I was wrong picking one of Golovkin's fights.

And while we're on it, I think my breakdown of Cotto-Canelo was rather close to the mark.

Canelo would slip Golovkins jab and counter him with right hands all night.

He could definitely slip Golovkin's jab and nail him with counters. But how frequently? And even when he does, what type of damage will he inflict and will it be enough to act as a deterrent? Personally, I say the frequency will be sp**** at best, and I don't imagine he'd ever manage to do much more than stop GGG in his tracks in the rare instances where he nails him flush with shots he doesn't see.

I'd put my money on GGG's jab over Canelo's countering skills any day, but I'd be shocked if any of them came into play over the course of a long battle that lasts the distance.

Golovkin is stronger, punches harder, is a bigger volume puncher, and has better footwork and a better ability to make fighters fight on his terms. Golovkin has significantly better feet than Canelo - that and greater stamina alone would see him to victory, without all of the other advantages he has.

Golovkin is all wrong for Canelo, which is why I never much cared about Golovkin facing the Cotto-Canelo winner in the first place.

In fact, dare I say, Golovkin poses a worst style match-up for Canelo, than Ward does for Golovkin.

To beat Golovkin, you will either need incredible power, or more likely you would need to be someone with the versatility, finesse, and athleticism - areas where Canelo is grossly lacking across the board.

Canelo is better than Lemiuex. I'd say he goes at least as many rounds with GGG as Lemieux did. And I'd say Canelo would win at least 4 or 5 rounds.

The only thing is that "sometimes" the body acts weird when it is pretty much hungry all the time and below its fighting weight.

naturally this is why Ginger is asking for the 5lbs.

It would be hilarious if GGG comfortably makes 155 and whips Canelo's ass. Canelo comes into the ring just about as big as GGG and I think he's even come into the ring even bigger than GGG has before. Canelo needs to stop being a ***** and stop hiding in his own made up weight class.

At 155 there's a chance Canelo survives and gets a robbery decision. But I think GGG stops him in 7

Thankyou Rummy. A breakdown essentially identical to my own. I've been hearing the 'Canelo counters GGG all night' argument put forward, but the simple fact is that Canelo just doesn't do anything 'all night' - he does some things well, including slipping and countering, he just doesn't do them enough. If nothing else Golovkin would beat him on activity alone, but when you start to figure in Golovkins Jab, pressure and power - it's just not a fight I see Canelo having a hope in.

For the sake of the unification and the $s, yeah, I can see the point, but it just ain't a fight I'm massively interested in seeing - neither was GGG - Cotto FWIW.

If GGG really wanted to, he could probably get Canelo out in round 1 even at 155.

GGG never escalates things in round 1. He uses it to feel an opponent and figure out a plan.

Besides, I don't know how much you weigh, but if I had to cut 15 pounds in 2 months and then had to cut 5 more pounds on top of that, I wouldn't feel like cracking an egg.
