After winning by a landslide Canelo/Team announced the fight was good to go. I have to give credit to both fighters for coming to an agreement. I wanna give a shout-out to the Canelo haters, you know how you are. I dare you to call Canelo El Pollo, come on don't hide, man up. What's your next excuse or motto, "GGG will put a hurting on Canelo". The only reason GGG/Team are accepting is because they want them golden eggs.
They will say he's fighting GGG because he showed weakness in his last fight. Maybe he did, but I think Jacobs is good so it's a little misleading.
I will still call Him El Pollo Rojo until he's in the ring with Golovkin & putting up a credible performance against him Tonight was a FARCE
Oh Lord, here we go with the excuses. Even GGG/Team admitted the fight was a go. Just man up and give Canelo his due, stop hating.
He's next my friend. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best and 1 being the worst, how do you rate Canelo's performance tonight?
Hnmmm. The positives were: - Canelo looked sharp and confident - he boxed well - Canelo seems to keep his speed despite moving up The negatives were: - Canelo's power wasn't enough to put JCC Jr down. - JCC Jr looked terrible so it's hard to judge the performance. I'd say a 7, maybe an 8. How about you?
If the fight is indeed signed..then I give Canelo full credit as I was a firm believer he would be fighting yet another soft fight next.
I'd say about an 11. I don't see how he could have done much better. I mean he's fighting a much bigger guy who towered over him, he won every round dominantly, he even did some rope a dope, he stood up between rounds every single round over 12 rounds, he busted Chavez up, he caused Chavez to retreat and be on the defensive the entire fight, he showed a large variety of punches and technique, he wasn't marked up himself. Just an awe inspiring performance all around.
Side note, I don't see why doing rope a dope or standing up between rounds is a plus? It was a comprehensive victory, but Chávez Jr turned in one of the worst major fight performances I have seen so I'm hesitant to call it higher than an 8. In my books you need a better quality opposition performance to reach 9 or 10, if it was GGG getting beaten that would be what gets a 10. 10s are reserved for very special performances to me. Would be interesting to see what others thought.
