If anyone was being a weight bully, it was GGG who was pressuing Canelo to fight him at a higher weight than he had ever fought before, while refusing to fight him at a catchweight despite GGG himself making statements that he had no problem fighting anywhere between 154-168 including GGG saying specificially that he would go down to 154 to fight Mayweather.

Canelo fought GGG at GGG's best weight, not the other way around. He didn't demand GGG meet him at a catchweight, like other fighters demanded from him (Mayweather & Cotto). He just needed time before he and his team was ready to move up in weight. It didn't take long. He had one more fight at 154 then he moved up in his next fight, which was a reasonable warmup vs Chavez Jr then GGG happened.

Actually the question really is, could GGG beat Canelo by KO in 2016? Because regardless the year, Canelo will win if it goes to the cards. As we all know, GGG and canelo fans alike.

Thats like GGG telling Ward he will fight him at 164lbs. Canelo knew that wasn't going to happen.

After Canelo layed down his belt Delahoya told the world that Canelo would be ready to fight GGG in 16 months.

Wasn't the weight a big part of that? He had been fighting 154-lbers and blown up weltweights his entire career. Moving up to Middleweight and fighting GGG was a big step up in weight. It wasn't just how much Canelo weighed, it was the size of the fighters he had been fighting. Canelo had no experience up to that point fighting actual Middleweights. It was important that he took his time before moving up, and fighting Chavez was an important preparation for him. If he would have got in with GGG right after fighting Khan it would have been a big adjustment fighting GGG as his first Middleweight he ever fought. He needed that Chavez Jr warmup at a higher weight to see what it's like to fight someone that big and more time for his body to adjust before he fought GGG.

Actually DLH didn't commit to that until December 2016 in an ESPN interview.

The only thing Canelo won is the story of the fight.

If what you say is true, then it makes this poll completely laughable, you think 53 posters are banking on GGG KOing Canelo when GGG couldn't even KO Jacobs 6 months later?

Or are we to believe that little Welterweight Kell Brook was the catalyst that turned GGG from a KO destroying monster into an old man incapable of KOing anymore anymore. :risas3:

Clen fans are bunch of weirdos, they want to keep GGG responsible for something like not fighting enough quality opponents, but forget that Clen is the one who ducked GGG for as long as he could and they totally ignore the fact that little ginger is a drug cheat.

GGG fans are insecure and bitter about what Canelo did to their hero. Canelo never ducked GGG, never cheated with drugs. You forget that when they fought Canelo came out on top, and you forget that clen is a fat burner that is in Mexican meat.

They must have been looking into a PED strategy, shipment times cycling, it all takes a little time, but Canelo looked too big and ripped vs Chavez, he even looked more lean at 164 than he did at 154lbs.

Yes he did. He wanted Golovkin at 155. When GGG refused and forced his mandatory shot at 160 Canelo vacated the belt like a puto.

Not only that, but until The GGG fight, Canelo was the one with a reputation for fighting smaller opponents.
