Canelo vs Golovkin is for the real p4p 1 spot rather then Ward vs Kovalev

Ha. This is bull**** on several levels.

Firstly, I don't give a **** whether or not Golovkin wins or loses and I wouldn't appear a fan if I didn't have to counteract the moronic **** some of his more mental detractors/Canelo fans spew out.

Secondly, Canelo is one of the sport's most notorious weight cutters so your suggestion that'd he'd be at least 5 pounds down on Golovkin if they both weighed in at 160 is laughable. Now if you want to keep on schlurping down that ginger schlong because Uncle Oscar tells you it'll help you grow up to be a big strong boy then be my ****ing guest but don't expect the rest to accept your dipsheet narrative.

Think before you type shitwhistle.

why does Canelo not get talked about as a top pound for pound fighter?
Sure he lost to Mayweather as a young green drained guy but other than that his record his amazing and unlike Ward who people worship he doesn't fight dirty,he comes to fight and improves each time out.
I may be proved wrong about Ward but to me it seems folk are basing him on what he did rather than what he's done of late.
I have to agree I think Canelo v GGG will sort out the best pound for pound?

Canelo has stated many times he weighs 165-170 fight night, I believe him 100%, he is only 5ft7 of course he will look wider than guys around 5ft9-5ft10.

I have seen GGG nuthuggers who claim Canelo is 185 fight night!!! How is that even possible, these same people think Kell Brook is bigger than GGG!

Delusional at it's finest

So why not reveal his weight on fight night?
For what it's worth though which so many on here have trouble understanding even Dan Ambrose who calls Canelo a light heavyweight lol,it's not entirely a weight thing anyway that makes one a middleweight ect,Brook like Canelo cuts massive amounts of weight but you heard it from GGG that he ain't no Middleweight,Canelo despite his height owned the WBC middleweight belt albeit fighting at 155 and as Thurman said it was the dumbest catchweight ever.

How much did Cotto weigh on the night when they fought?as that would give you an idea as to his weight as Canelo was so much bigger that night,I've never seen anyone who can cut weight like Canelo and in that respect he's the ultimate pro,I for one want to see him against someone his own size for once?

I've never seen anyone claim Brook is bigger than Golovkin. I think that's more BS.

On the official fight night scales Canelo has weighed in at 172 and 174 whilst fighting at 154. 174 would be a pretty big gain from 160 let alone 154 wouldn't you agree? He's not a small guy.

He comes in heavy, I'm not sure why you're trying to argue the toss on that. It's pretty irrefutable.

Why weigh in fight night when you are preparing for a fight? He's already weighed in at 154 or whatever

GGG doesn't appear to be listing his fight night weights? (I haven't seen any, not that I have tried to look)

Smith was towering over Canelo he was a big boy do you need specsavers?

Whoever said Canelos main strength is cutting weight is dead right.

GGG seems to be a love/hate fighter right now but he has the biggest scalp in boxing. Irrespective of Ward/Kova .. if Cenalo can do GGG he will be everyone's P4P number 1.

I just hope the Canelo fans understand this. Because if GGG beats him...man up and give him kudos.

PS...James5000....u do not know anything about this sport. Still harping on that GGG ducked CEJ

I hope CEJ can get a big fight soon, getting tired of these fights falling through.

Yeah he does. In the Brook fight he was 168 and Brook was 169. Or maybe he was 167 and Brook was 168; whatever it was I recall seeing that Brook was almost a pound heavier which stands out to me because I found it interesting. They have had his weight for other fights as well, but I don't recall them. He's usually in the 168 range and when they show his opponents he's typically smaller. I don't think they showed the weights for his fight against Rosado or Monroe Jr but I wouldn't be surprised if GGG came out heavier than them, but aside from those two I can't think of anyone Golovkin seems like he would outweigh.

Canelo showed his weight to be in the 174 range years ago, but he has gotten bigger since then. I don't know how he's able to cut so much weight and not harm his body. I've said this before, but I think when he moves up into the 160 division he's going to look better than he does at 154.

That was the IBF mandatory morning weigh in which you can't be more than 10lbs over, GGG was still hydrating at that point

I found http://basementgymboxing.blogspot.com/2014/01/fight-night-boxing-weights-list-of.html

Doesn't look official at all, but the numbers do coincide with what I recall.

I take these unofficial weights with a grain of salt, some guy's have even claimed them to BS, but Floyd's always seemed on the light side

It make sense for Mayweather to come in light. He isn't someone that would gain a lot from excessively cutting weight. He doesn't even look to be a big guy at all.

What do you mean he's not a P4P fighter? He's fought some good talent on the way up, and as champion he took the fights he didn't have to take that were perceived as tough loseable fights for him in Trout, Floyd, Lara and Cotto. Going 3-1 against the names mentioned. Oh he didn't fight GGG when you wanted him to, boo hoo. Cmon man.

The way I see it, the #1 spot is owned by Roman Gonzalez and until he loses or at least looks like **** no one is moving him from that position. #2 and #3 are Kov and GGG and I don't care enough about where you place them. Canelo is in the top 10, but as it stands Ward shouldn't be in the top 10 since he hasn't done anything spectacular in about 5 years. If Ward wins then he will skyrocket to #2 for me. If Kov wins then he stays right where he is and Ward's performance in his next fight will determine how great of a win beating Ward actually is at this point.
