Did anybody have a scorecard for the fight? i remember watching it and thinking that Canelo wasn't being active enough and wasnt throwing many combinations, also some people thought Gomez shouldve gotten a couple of rounds for controlling the tempo and that the stoppage was to quick.
Gomez ahead by a couple rounds. But Canelo was taking it easy early i think. Canelo schooled him with the KO though, And thats what matters.
Most important thing in that fight for me SS, was that Gomez exposed Canelo's vulnerability to educated movement. Subtle half steps back and to the side, along with a touch of lateral movement to change the angle of the exchange and Canelo wasn't half as effective. If you have a guy who's better than Gomez (Really a B class Welterweight) and teach him to dictate the dynamics of the fight, I don't see Canelo as being much of a problem.
