Canelo vs Groves @168....

This version of Canelo is a beast as he knows he can take the power so I’d probably take Canelo as he has such a high volume of body punches.

If Groves shows signs of well developed pugilistic dementia, I'm sure Canelo will force him to make a few concessions before talking the fight..

 

Groves is a big big SMW and comes in at 180-190 on the night.

Canelo would look tiny in there.

 

What do people think Canelo wants to do in SMW, because I just cant see him wanting to fight the likes of Smith or other big fighters in the division. Surely MW is where it is all happening, with much bigger fights etc. Although with the DAZN deal he could probably fight me for 30M$

Depends if Groves gasses & how much he has left .. At his peak he out boxed both Froch & Degale IMO On the slide he schooled CEJ & gave Smith a few things to mull over... He's another talented copper top, nice boxer puncher type (David Haye- esque) but slightly vulnerable.. Natural SMW too! Skilled..

Let's wait & see how Canelo looks at 168 first.. I'm not convinced! Groves would be a difficult style match up.. Wouldn't just stand & trade! Heck of a jab...

 

I think Canelo can pull it off

 

Not entirely sure how much Groves has left in him, interesting fight though. Groves Jab is still one of the best in the game, I actually would quite like to see this.

Groves gets worn down and probably stopped, guy is old, badly past prime and never had a good chin. There isn't much of a size advantage, Groves is dwarfed by younger SMWs like Smith, Benavidez, Ramirez.

Canelo vs Smith is the better fight, now Canelo is in real danger of losing that one due to the size difference.
