This is lame and you are lame if you excuse or justify it. Even the weirdos who thought Jermall could beat Canelo don't think that anymore. And then you fight a guy who has yet to fight above 147?

    Absolutely, unequivocally lame.

He has been a joke & a fraud since he took over Floyd's mantle as Vegas cash cow. No legitimate boxing fan who loves the sport, can possibly support his blatant robbing of the fans. Boxing was once labeling as The Fight Game !! but today its known as the FAKERS game. Its days as a legitimate combat sport are sadly over

Jesus...by the time Crawford steps into the ring with Canelo, Canelo will outweigh him by 20-25lb.

It's a ****ing joke fight. As good as Crawford is, this is a Canelo special. The guy is a playground bully. It's pathetic.

Is it also Crawford cashing out because he's not beating Canelo in a million years?

As for the other Charlo sister, the less said the better.

If Crawford really is on the menu for Sept, that means he will sit out the rest of the year, and be inactive for 14 months and 37 by the time the fight happens. Perfect for Canelo!

It's killing the sport and these are fights that no true fan is interested in. Meanwhile you have legitimate guys like Benavidez and Tszyu who will fight anyone but are being deprived of their earned shot at glory.

It's a marketing game now, it's nothing to do with making the best fights.

As much as I despise the Saudis at least they are trying to put fights on that people want to see.

Canelo is overrated and always has been.

Floyd destroyed him. Made him look a mug. Nelo won one round.

    GGG beat him twice.

    Bivol bashed him.

Overhyped to the bone. But credit to his management. They made the most out of that meal ticket and then some. You don't understand the importance of fresh produce.

At first glance, one might think that Mall has no chance, being that he was been going through many troubles the last couple of years, but here is an angle. Canelo had a relatively tough fight vs Ryder, and couldn't stop him, then Munguia ran through him and stopped him, knocking Ryder down multiple times. Derevyanchenko whooped Munguia in a razor thin loss, the last round knockdown saved Munguia. Charlo beat Derevyanchenko by a fair justfied decision. If Charlo can turn back the clock, maybe Mall could shock the world. Canelo's win over Ryder isn't aging that well. I still would love to see Derevyanchenko vs Canelo at 168lbs. A fading Canelo vs a determined last chance Derevyanchenko. If Derev could win, what an upset that would be.

I think Crawford is like 180 between fights. He is a big dude, fortunately.

That's not fighting weight though. Bud would be very sluggish if he entered the ring at anything close to that.

Canelo's "fighting" weight is much heavier than Bud's.

Yea, but Crawford won´t struggle to be solid 168 on fight night, that´s why I think is good. He is not like Manny who moved to "154" while still weighing 150 on fight night.
Canelo can make 168 with ease, it seems. On paper the weight difference would be 21 lbs, but in reality it would be less.
And I bet Bud would really enjoy not having to make weight for once. He is a big dude and could have moved to 154 years ago.

I don´t know. Despite the weight cap and Bud´s age, I am up for this one. Canelo seems to be slipping and Crawford seems to be at or near his peak. I am intrigued.

TC weighing around 180 between fights is him out of shape. If he just tries to cut less weight, at 168 he'll look flabby and soft. He's cut at 147. Just look at OScar at 154, then at 160 vs Sturm. Or Mikey Garcia at 135 and then 147. Soft in the middle. That's not a good look for TC to face Canelo.

In order to come in properly at 168, TC would have to add more muscle. More mass than just fat. And that can greatly affect his speed and technique, not to mention stamina at the higher weight.

PBC doing a ton of maneuvering around these matchups. Crawford Spence is on life support and the moment he turns his attention to Tszyu a fight with Thurman materializes outta nowhere to keep the Spence rematch payday alive and not feed yet another one of their champs to Crawford who's not PBC. I always thought the plan when Canelo signed this deal was Charlo, Charlo, Benavidez. Im sure that's still the plan, David and his team just need to stfu long enough to get the fight. We've seen that crowing andnpressuring Canelo never gets you the fight. Charlos both learned this, they were begging Canelo to fight long before Benavidez. Now that Crawfords name is in the Canelo mix I'm sure PBC will push the Benavidez fight up because they don't want to give Crawford anything, especially their last fight of Canelo's deal. Maybe I'm seeing it wrong.

The one thing you can't say about Jermall is that he's moving up in weight. Jermall is clearly a SMW at this point. He couldn't even come close to making a 163 lb catchweight in his last fight, weighing in at 166.4. Judging by that, there's no way Jermall can even come close to making Middleweight anymore, so he's definitely a SMW at this point.

So I don't have any issue with him fighting Jermall in May, as long as he turns around and fights Benavidez in September. I agree that fighting Crawford instead of Benavidez would be lame, but fighting Jermall and then Benavidez in September is not lame at all.

And if he beats Benavidez, I think that would give the public an appetite for Canelo vs Bud in 2025. But he shouldn't fight Bud in September instead of Benavidez, that will anger a lot of fans and rightly so.

Yet Khan nor Brook looked flabby at 160 and 155 respectively. In fact, both looked in great shape and not slower one bit. With proper preparation, I can see Bud being in great shape at 168. I think it´s reasonable to expect Bud to be slightly over 160 right now on fight nights. Another 6 or 8 lbs would not be a big deal considering his frame.
Or he could go on a seaweed diet like Josesito Lopez vs Canelo and weigh in looking like a tub of cheap margarine.

Neither went to 168. And neither looked as trim at 155 & 160 as they normally did. Crawford moving up 21 pounds for a fight is just stupid. But you don't get it. If Bud is over 160, that's not even his optimal weight. You think Bud would look as cut at 160 as he does 147 weigh in? Nope.
