Who wins and why?
Is Pavlik sober, if so he could win a decison
Canelo would be too slick, Canelo via clear UD or late stoppage.
Pavlik by TKO, could be RTD
At his best, Pavlik brought tremendous pressure, workrate. I don't think Canelo is conditionned to keep up with Pavlik.
Pavlik beats his ass. He'd be a style nightmare for Canelo.
Pavlik would walk into counters and fail to hurt Canelo He might have marginal success sitting behind his jab.
Then how do you explain Canelos 2 fights with GGG? GGG has most of Pavlik's attributes and is an even harder puncher. Canelo lost that first fight with GGG but he could take the shots without crumbling even making a small comeback in the late rounds.
Who says Golov is a harder puncher than Pavlik? Based on what?
Who says he isn't? Make a case. I'm all ears.
Pavlik at his very best grinds Canelo down. He was huge, would control distance with his jab, and push Canelo back with his pressure and two-fisted attack. I don't think the 2017/2018 version of GGG that Canelo fought would beat Pavlik either.
Would the venue be in any of the protected Mexican's strongholds?
Canelo would get the decision but whether he would actually win or not is another matter.
How is Canelo too slick for Pavlik , ya right .. We're talking Canelo here not Hopkins ..
I like Pavlik as a fighter but he's being massively overrated in this thread.
Quite the contrary. Clenelo is being overrated here.
He arguably doesn't even beat Taylor.
Prime Pavlik is actually underrated.
