I know there is a few threads knocking about on this but does anyone else out there think that Canelos power is massively over rated? Matthew Hatton went 12 with him (i know hes never been stopped) Cotto went 12 (been stopped by manny and margarito) Mosley took him 12. Hes never knocked anyone out that I've thought wow I'm really surprised he's stopped him. Hes got schooled by Floyd mayweather and Lara gave him hell. Imo Amir is all wrong for Canelo, Golden Boy have picked Amir as hes a big name and they see him as being chinny. I think he will dance circles round Saul amd win by wide UD plus i genuinely think he will be bigger and better at 155lb I also don't think Amir is a chinny as people make out. His fight vs Midana shows that, prescott and Garcia were god like punches. If he concentrates doesnt stay in the pocket and try and get macho the 10/3 odds is very big imo. Im tipping KHAN wide UDb
If Khan had a good chin he would be world champ by now.. If he sticks to a game plan iu think he can win but as soon as he goes gung ho he will get caught. Its more to do with how Khan performs than how good Canelo is
I don't think anyone overrates Canelo's power, he has never been a one punch KO artist and more of a fighter that can get to you down the back end of a fight with his timing and size. Of the fighters you have stated that he failed to stop if you look deeper in to the opponents/who they were stopped by etc and reasons for Canelo's performances then it is very plausible why he didn't stop these guys. Matthew Hatton: Canelo was dead at the weight and if I remember correctly couldn't make the weight for the fight, he then moved up in his next fight. Miguel Cotto: Although Cotto was stopped by both Pacman and Margarito I'm pretty sure we can assume that the Margarito fight he was being bashed by illegal wraps and against Pacman i'm pretty sure Cotto agreed to one of Pacmans demands where he was only allowed to put on 7lb before the fight (a common demand from Pacman at the time) as well as the SUPPOSED use of PED's by Pacman (I don't know for definite but it has been publicised but I would like to think he was clean) so Pacman could have had an unfair advantage over Cotto, also Cotto moved up to Light Middleweight so the weight could have been an issue. Shane Mosely: Very tough and only been stopped once and was just off the back of a points defeat to Pacman. I personally think that Amir will have success ion the first few rounds but Canelo will find his timing and rhythm and when that happens I see him setting a trap for Amir or it might even be that Amir gets complacent and then Canelo will Check Left Hook and drop Khan. I hope i am wrong but I feel that Amir is getting well paid to be beat because even if he last to the end the judges won't give him the decision!! I was at the Mayweather vs Canelo fight and Matweather controlled him for the whole fight and 1 judge had Canelo winning!! haha
The rest of the post makes sense but when you have a glass chin, you cannot get a transplant. If Canelo connects, glass will smash.
Khans biggest problem is his boxing brain more so than his glass jaw. Guys that need their trainers to shout instructions for twelve rounds dont beat guys like canelo mayweather etc. He will have success early more so because canelo can be patient at times. Get a feeling khan will be on enchancements for this fight tho. Be interested to see how he is. Claiming he has three times the power and one and a half times his usual speed. Bearing in mind khan wasnt dead at the weight back at welterweight will be scratching my head if he is one and a half times as fast and 3 times as powerful.
