It will be very competitive. When Lara moves he'll have Canelo over reaching, but when he does stop or is on the ropes Canelo will punish him. Canelo stops Lara in 8-10 rounds.
I see this fight being a repeat of Donaire vs. Rigendeux. Lara will take Canelo to school for 12 rounds on the way to a unanimous descision.
Lara by MD. Canelo will start good, but he has stamina issues and I think in the 'slower' rounds Lara will have the advantage. Looking forward to this fight no matter who wins. It's interesting and competitive and props to both guys.
lara wins in a boring decision. i wont be surprised if drainelo stops esp if he comes overweight. lara has a chance of stopping drainelo late if drainelo gasses.
I laugh at Lara saying he is going to "beat the shat out of Canelo, like Tito did to Oscar." Hahaha.. He must not watch boxing. Toss up for me, but slightly inclined to go with Canelo. I still see Lara as a bit overhyped. Everyone is acting like he fought a great Angulo. Angulo was never great to begin with, and by the time Lara got to him, he was completely washed up. I know styles make fights, but I still think Canelo has enough power to trouble Lara.
For real. I don't understand the hate for Canelo. The kid did not have an amateur background and took a while to step it up, but when he did, the jump was huge; taking on Mayweather at such a young age is something he really didn't have to do. Now Lara. Russell jr. only fought for a title because it was against a new comer to the pro circuit, or else he would still be fighting horrible bums. Also, Cubans might have excellent amateur backgrounds, but they fight amateurs way beyond the age of Canelo.
I got Alvarez by competitive decision or late stoppage? Canelo's got underrated ring smarts and skill I think he'll eventually be too much for Lara. Major props to whoever wins.
