Under the rules of boxing Lara won the fight. If Canelo woulda came out and pressed from the opening bell he coulda won but he didn't. He came out arrogant and tried to outbox Lara. Lara was in control from the opening bell to the closing bell. Lara got ahead and forced Canelo to press the fight and made him a bobblehead.
Just did a look into it and didn't see much about it so I can't comment on reviews, I can agree that 117-111 is a horrible score but Lara winning 117-111 as you say is just as bad. the real score was 7-5 either way or a draw anything else is trolling.
Lara won, and the only reason this is even an argument is because of how perceived "negatively" Lara's style is. He did what he had to do to win.
I'm by far more of a Canelo but Lara won this fight clearly IMO. All Canelo landed all fight was about ten legit full on body shots and one uppercut. The rest of his "body shots" landed on the arms, elbows, hips or back.
Canelo 117-111 But the majority think it was a draw Only the knuckle heads somehow convinced themselves Lara won wide
I have never seen Canelo missing so many punches often landing in the ropes incredibly what a good defensive fighter could make you look so badddd I know Oscar was against this fight he knew Lara is a difficult fighter like GGG team knows too.
Canelo never hurt Lara, never even came close to hurting him any point through out the whole fight. Watch the fight again I ask you to look very closely at Canelos bodywork. Its not clean and the majority of it is not landing. Its very easy too see it, you cant miss it. All you see is a frustrated Canelo throwing hard bodyshots that are being blocked and landing on Laras forearms. None of the commentators had Canelo winning if my memory is still intact. There are also many fighters who scored it for Lara. Robert Guerrero watched the fight in a bar in mexico and he said everyone in there were in agreement that Canelo clearly lost. Canelo was just way too ineffective to win that fight. Once again, he received a boxing lesson.
You can run and move if you the one thats landing the cleaner offense which is exactly what Lara did setting up Canelo and snapping his head back. Btw Going by that logic how many fights did you personally have Floyd Mayweather losing?
Id it to Canelo but it was very close, Lara caught like a woman though , he should ashamed of himself, should have stood toe to toe and slugged it out
Lara was fighting more defensive than he ever had, there were times when he litearlly turned his back and ran. Lara got marked up and even got a cut on his brow from a Canelo uppercut, Lara was not putting any weight behind his punches. Also Lara stunk the joint up fighting to negative. Canelo landed the more EFFECTIVE punches and had Lara running for dear life.
