Yup He couldve fought Carlos Molina (lw) and made the same amount of money but he wanted the "most feared beast"(lmao) at 154
Lara had enormous trouble with Molina, Vanes, and Angulo. I'm not saying he's a bad fighter by any means because he's real good, but let's not fall victim to bunching him into the elite boxer category. He's a good boxer, but he does not have an answer for everything by any means. On the other hand, Canelo's tough to gauge. He's so young and honestly looks a little different and better everytime he enters the ring. I expected Trout to beat Canelo and was surprised at how well Canelo performed (although it was a very slim, but clear win imo). I anticipated Floyd winning more comfortably than he did versus Canelo - sure it was like 9-3 or 8-4, but Canelo was very competitive most rounds including the ones he lost. Then, when I anticipated Canelo would implode, he looked absolutely stellar versus Angulo. This fight is 50-50 for me because Canelo is the intangible. I don't know if the hungry beast is going to show up or if the Canelo from the Trout fight will show up (in which case he will lose), but if Canelo is even somewhat aggressive...Lara might be in trouble. Definitely the best fight of the summer
This is a genuine 50/50 fight for me, You can't make a prediction. Canelo fighting Lara is a huge move from him and fairplay, Duckweather should fight GGG at 154 and that would be a 50/50 fight and he can learn from Canelo's bravery.
Did you see his fight with Mayweather? Yeah, he's not a true warrior. ****ing embarrassing performance he put on, and I hope Lara knocks his ass out. Then we get to see Lara/Angulo: II.
Ease up homie. Being too hard on the youngster after one performance. He just didn't know his own strength or size...was mentally intimidated by the smarter/more experienced fighter. Didn't realize he could hurt Floyd = hesitant and confused :verysad But he's a G and is taking on the best fights. That's not something typical of PPV headliners these days. Although...if he does beat Lara...there's essentially nothing left for him to do at 154 :-((
Yes. Canelo has proven time and time again that he prefers to box from the outside, which is what Lara also prefers. So I see this being a boxing match. Lara is the better boxer, slicker and faster. And if Canelo tries to push the action, he will get countered. The only chance I give Canelo is if he lands a big shot and gets Lara out of there. Other than that, I don't see how he wins.
The guy has truly taken on all the tough challenges, something that can't be said for most champions these days.
