Canelo vs. Makabu / Ryder / Buatsi / Richards in December

    Eddie Hearn already talks about Canelo's potential opponents for December. The WBC Cruiserweight champion Makabu, the WBA Supermiddleweight mandatory Ryder or the winner of the Buatsi / Richards fight, could be the opponent for Canelo. What do you guys think about it? Which fight would be the best for Canelo?

    Everyone but Beterbiev....what a surprise.

    Eddie Hearn is going to pay Canelo $30m to fight John Ryder and lose DAZN even more money :lol:

    Tbf I dont think any boxer from 160lbs - 175lbs would fight GGG in September and face Beterbiev 3 months later.

    Buatsi is a genuine threat. I don't think Alvarez will pick him. I think Fast Eddie is just getting Josh lined up for when Canello moves back down to Super Middle or even Middle.
    Makabu would be the shrewd choice as Alvarez has the beating of him and there is a Title in another weight division available.

    They're not good enough.

    The boxing trainers here are like fitness coaches and the quality of sparring is not good enough either.

    You can go to any gym in the UK and no one can teach you, from scratch, how to fight slick, how to fight like Joe Louis or Chocolatito, or adopt a defence like the Philly Shell etc.

    It's just basic 1-2 training for the most part.

    The Ingles are maybe an exception but they are just ONE gym and a total anomaly.

    Case in point - look how many British trainers Amir Khan had in his early career and he fought exactly the same way with every one of them. He then goes to Freddie Roach and makes radical alterations and goes on a multi year run of success at the top level......

    Buatsi is less of a threat than even this old version of GGG, Bivol, Makabu or Ryder. Quite frankly, he's probably less of a threat than Plant and Smith.

    I've followed Josh since before his Olympic campaign and believe me, he can really fight and really bang. He will not disappoint when his chance comes to move up a level or two.
