Canelo vs Margarito 154lbs

    He fought 3 opponents after the plaster case.

    Pac
    Cotto
    Garcia

    He would have lost to Pac regardless, he practically lost to Cotto because of the Pac fight on one hand and of course was getting outboxed in the other, but really Margarito looked slow and past it anyways, that has nothing to do with plaster, and he beat Garcia.

    To say he won more then he lost after the plaster, well... ya. He fought a great fighter and an awesome fighter back to back. And because he was retired by Pac breaking his face.

    Its not like he started losing to average fighters all of a sudden.


    People keep saying hes overrated but the guy popped Cottos cherry, Martinez's cherry, Cintrons cherry (doesn't belong in the same sentence as the other two I agree) gave Williams all he could handle and gave Pac one of the hardest fights of his career.

    Now, theres those who will try to spin each and every one of these or dismiss it all with 'plaster', whatever, his record speaks for itself.

    The plaster thing casts huge clouds over him, I agree.... but I take that into consideration, I don't let it override everything he accomplished. The man was a legit threat and a legit fighter.

    A fit Margarito would have been too much for Canelo.... although I do have to think about how Marg was never all that impressive at 154, Canelo being big for that weight he might deal with Margarito a bit better then Im imagining. But even if its a close fight I still think a prime marg outworks him and out hustles him down the stretch to win a close decision.

    Canelo would beat the **** outta Margo. Margo never looked good at 154 so I don't understand what people are thinking saying he would win. Canelo would light Margo up with combos and bust his ass up. Margo is tailormade for a guy like Canelo, guys who can box with movement give Canelo problems not guys who are there to be hit.:deal

    Canelo is still very very green , also he isnt this monster we have all been lead to believe.

    Margo has fought all types and has been in with the best. Regardless of what he had in his gloves he walked through Cotto's power in the first fight and wasnt hurt in the second. Just the eye closed.

    Its speed that beats Marg and Canelo isnt quick enough.

    This is a bad night for Canelo.

    Margo has never looked good at 154. Margo doesn't have the speed jab countering or movement to trouble Canelo. This fight would look a like look the Angulo fight in which Canelo teed off with power combos that busted Angulo up. Margo isn't anything special at 147 and he was trash at 154 easy work for Canelo.

    also hes built like a little tank, canelo is probably stronger than the rangier margarito, so antonio wont be doing any pushing around. canelo has enough power to hurt margarito, margarito aint the terminator that people think he is

    Canelo would lose on two things alone.... margs activity and that marg is a strong finisher in the championship rounds while canelo is not.

    Also someone said canelo doesnt have a problem with guys like marg but just boxers.

    How do we even know that? What top level pressure fighter has canelo fought? What dangerous volume fighter has he fought?

    Canelo is the one getting overrated here.

    Margarito aint hard to hit, canelo puts together good combinations that would bust antonio up, while the fight progresses, canelo can box off the back foot. And he has a decent defence to margaritos long looping shots, he will be stronger and bigger. if it turns physical canelo would probably outman him, or due to the damage he'd done in the earlier rounds, survive the late onslaught from margarito. the championship rounds are 3 rounds, the fight would be in canelo's grasp already. 8-4 decision Alvarez.

    Exactly people act like Margo is some robot. Canelo can hurt him he throws most of his punches with power. Canelo is a much better fighter than Margo.

    canelo is complete **** who has he fought?

    Toni would stop that bum i am interested to see how well he does with a shot cotto that is a good indicator how good he really is

    Margarito beast at 147, but 154 he was abit more avg. He'd come on late on Canelo, but Canelo would cling on to Margarito's ***** to survive a late scare.

    Who has he fought? PBF Trout Lara and Angulo he has a good resume for someone of his age. Canelo is light years more skilled than Margo he gives him a severe beating and wins going away.

    canelo is not proven he struggled with ricky hattons brother ahahah

    CANELO HAS NO BIG POWER A SHOT 40 YEAR OLD MOSLEY SAID HE HITS THE SAME AS FLOYD

    anyway if he fights cotto we will see how well he does with a shot cotto that is a good indicator of how good he is

    I think Canelo would take this by clear decision...Primarily based on the size at junior middle. Would like to know how the Mexican fans feel about it...
