If Martinez can turn back the clock a year or two for one last big fight, I'd definitely favor him. I don't know if he's physically capable, though, at this point with his age and injuries continuing to pile up. He looked finished as a pound-for-pound talent against Murray. Then again, Canelo isn't exactly a pound-for-pound talent himself IMO.
Martinez would come in ready for this fight just like he was for Chavez Jr and that's bad news for Canelo. Martinez would love a guy like Canelo who fights in spurts that would allow him to get off and move around throwing jabs and pot shot him to death. Martinez UD:deal
Canelo just had his best performance reaching his prime while Maravilla got thru his worst and lucky he,escaped with a W. I think Canelo has a defense so good it would even give Floyd problems. Trout missed most of his shots couldn't even land flush on Canelo. Sergio at this stage needs to fight as the destroyer he once was because his legs are betraying him. He's prone to injury and takes longer to heal. Right now tho, Canelo definitely wins. Unless that was just a bad night for El Sexy vs Murray, he needs to find his groove back or Maravilla is on the verge of getting toppled.
Martinez struggled recently with people with decent defense...Canelo don't have solid d...Martinez late stoppage.
