I doubt its Mayorga, all of Canelo Camp strictly says it won't be Mayorga.EVen if it is Mayorga who cares honestly he gave cotto some early competitive rounds in a PPV fight last year where unranked Mayorga got a title shot, so if it is him who cares... people didn't give cotto ****... so meh.

People scan DLH twitter as that's where he will announce it.

I think it might be a unification/Kirkland on Free TV. They did say it was history making obviously big time boxing back to free TV would be a big historic event...

But who knows, we shall know soon.

Who cares. He is fighting. It isn't like the lack of opponent is his fault. He did everything in his power to fight a young relevant guy. Guys like Bundrage should have been falling all over themselves to get in the ring with Canelo. They aren't. Can't knock Canelo for that.

I would love to see Josh Clottey come back and touch Canelo up. The Grand Master would have something for him.

Recent news: A source has informed Fightnews that there’s a good possibility that Golden Boy Promotions will shortly name the next opponent of WBC super welterweight world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for his next defense on September 15 in Las Vegas. According to the source, some candidates include James Kirkland, Josesito Lopez, Erislandy Lara, Cornelius Bundrage, Austin Trout and Ricardo Mayorga.

Get out of here. Options like who? Who is left who's career is at a place where they will take a shorter notice fight?

He doesn't have a ton of options that are both good matchups for fans, his skill level, and size. To keep his star rising, he needs a guy who will make a fight. That takes Lara and Trout out of the picture. Kirkland needs a tuneup to test that shoulder. Bundrage balked. Martirosyan? Career too good of a place. Rosado? Molina?

    Boxing fans hate Boxing.
