Oscar was in the P4P lists in a stronger late 90’s era, where he was desperately unlucky not to get decisions over prime versions of Tito and Shane. Compare that to Canelo not being able to hardly win a round off of Floyd, and barely being able to have beaten Trout and Lara. He was also given a huge gift in the first GGG fight. If Canelo had been in around in the mid to late 90’s, he’d have been lucky to have even seen the top 10 P4P list.
Correct. Oscar was very unlucky in some of his fights. He employed very poor tactics at the end of the Tito fight though.
Oscar has better wins, never cherry picked like Canelo and fought monsters in their prime, and never had his ears boxed off in his prime like Canelo, plus he was a more skilled fighter than Canelo ever will be.
Oscar. Yeah he had some fights that shouldn't have gone his way like the Sturm and Whittaker fights, but you look at the losses and how well he did in them. He beat Trinidad. I have watched that fight so many times and even if you hated Oscar I still don't see how you could score it worse than a draw. Mosely was cheating and Oscar arguably beat him in both. He was boxing well against Bhop but you can't argue that loss. When he fought Floyd his personal life had fallen off the rails (fishnets, coke) but he definitely lost to the better fighter and the Pacquiao fight should just be stricken from the records. Any of the top 30 welters would have beaten that skeleton of Oscar.
