How do you guys see this fight going? Was Williams shot by then or does he he take Canelo into deep waters with his volume of punches and drown him in the later rounds when Canelo was known to fade?

They are the only boxers to beat Lara. Paul Williams had enormous reach for a MW, so I'd lean towards Williams by UD.

I think Williams would have dominated Canelo I was so p*ssed that Paul had his accident because he was one of my favorite boxers and I was really looking forward to that match.

Rewatch that fight man. Im a big Paul Williams fan and loved watching him in the ring, but he did not beat Lara....It was a pretty brutal gift of a decision

I like Williams but he'd lose this

    especially by 2012

truth be told I don't know if Williams would have ever beaten canelo

Not entirely sure about that though

I see Canelo countering Williams with hard shots till Williams slows down his output

Williams was never really hard to hit but his chin was solid

Despite that, I can't see someone getting hit by Canelo repeatedly and walking through it

He'd get gun shy eventually and lose a UD

    Canelo's power is good

Well Saul-Lara was pretty close too. It could go either way. One would expect a rematch after an SD.

Yes, that was at least close.
Lara vs PW wasn't even close. Robbery of the year without any doubt.

Canelo vs Lara was a close fight and could have gone either way depending on how you favor aggression in a fight.

Lara vs PWill was a BRUUUUUTAL robbery dude. Seriously, go back and re watch it. It's grand larceny

I did, Lara was robbed big time against Williams. It's absurd they couldn't find any fraud or wrongdoing with judges in that fight.

I thought Williams was just about shot at that point in time. Alvarez would have probably stopped him.

Agreed, look at the Ishida fight too. not saying Ishida came close to winning but he was giving as good as he got in that fight and I dont think the scorecards reflected it.

Paul Williams was overhyped due to his size at the weight however Quintana, Martinez and Lara all proved there was a way to beat him

By 2012 coming off the KO loss to Martinez Williams just didnt seem the same fighter
