I have no preference, honestly. I don't even know if Golovkin-Pac is realistic. Only that I've heard Roach sounding off about it in recent days. I do think Canelo-Pac is more competitive (because I see Canelo-GGG as a total mismatch in terms of competitiveness), and I think it's more likely only insofar that it's almost certainly a much bigger money fight. And I'm not really sure Canelo (and especially Oscar) want the Golovkin fight, despite their recent carefully worded posturing. But come on! I've sang about half a dozen songs about Gennady. I'm a fan! :smoke
Not sure how Canelo/Pac can happen considering that the Pacman is now a senator. On another note, I'd love to see a Canelo/GGG fight.
:rofl Yeah, I had one about Gennady taking on middleweight greats of the past, because Canelo and Cotto are divas. But I also had songs about "Yellow Nellow" and "Canelo the Red Head Middle", so I try and play both sides.
I'll revisit this thread when I'm not stoned. I've had Radiohead's new album on repeat since 2:00 PM. :smoke
Haha, fair enough. Honestly, I myself found it hilarious after Canelo/Cotto when not only was the fight not looking likely but Cotto refused to pay him the step aside as well. It was just too ridiculous how screwed over he was getting by everyone. I wouldn't forgive Roach if he did this bull****.
After the info on Canelo's poor PPV numbers vs Khan, the GGG/Canelo MANDATORY bout may happen. Even nose candy O$CAR realizes a loss by Canelo ruins the gate for a GGG/Canelo match. :rofl With O$CAR.. it's ALL about the MONEY !!! I'm thinking now we may actually see GGG/Canelo fight in 2016.
Agreed (except I don't ever believe Lemieux would beat Canelo). If I were managing Canelo I'd think first priority would be one of the cash cows (Pac, Floyd II, Cotto II), but after that short list - it's Golovkin. Although I suppose Lemieux could be an in-house possibility, but I think Oscar dropped the ball on that for allowing Lemieux to dive into a GGG fight (although all the credit in the world to Lemieux for going after the fight when he certainly didn't need to).
Yay, let's all see Canelo beat on a midget again :-( It's time for him to face Golovkin and take his medicine :deal
I prefer GGG and find it more likely this year. I think Pacquiao has the style to go in and out on Canelo with quick combinations. And I think Canelo has a decent chance of countering GGG well over the course of the fight, even though I favor GGG. But I think Pacquiao is more at risk fighting a guy as big as Canelo, especially at this age. Margarito's body shots had a big effect on him, and Canelo is surely going to be more accurate with his thudding power punches. Golovkin hasn't fought anyone like Canelo yet, but I think he's safer and more comfortable fighting his typical fight against Canelo than Pacquiao would be, as he'd have to walk a tightrope similar to the way Khan did.
So if Canelo bows out of the GGG pursebid, he's stripped??? If so....which weight will Canelo drain down to to fight A side Pacqioua? Maybe Pac can get him down to 153 and beat his head in for 12 grueling rds.
