The difference in this fight is Canelo is a dynamic fighter and Plant isn't.

One of Plant's flaws is that he's not physically stronger than the guys that are at the top of his respective division. I'll use two fighters for example: Floyd and Ward. Floyd and Ward, despite not being big punchers were both very capable, rough and physically strong, in many cases actually stronger than their opponents on the inside and in clinches. Look at their fights, they were both physical power guys even though they weren't hitters. They sapped guys energy. Plant is literally nothing but speed and minimal substance and he hasn't shown that he's defensively elusive at the top level yet. Tap, tap, tap.....tap tap, move. Nothing else and you cannot get away with that forever at the highest level. Both Ward and Floyd played the rough, dirty game very effectively. Plant has never exhibited this ability in any fight to date. Also, you can't beat Canelo without having at the very least 3 dynamic attributes (Golovkin for example has 4, big hitter/excellent jab/monster chin/foot placement, and I thought he beat Canelo). You can't name more than one dynamic attribute Plant has: speed (can't say defense because it's not been proven yet). That's not enough.

Plant has very quick hands and feet, but he's going up against someone that has quick hands and that is probably top 3 currently in combination punching/and a counter puncher. Also that same person is becoming an effective stalker. What does he fall back on if he gets cut off and trapped in a corner or on the ropes and can't just spin off? Is he going to trade with Canelo? A harder hitter and someone that's actually better at catch/counter? That's foolish. This is where being strong on the inside would come into play and he ain't got it.

    Canelo late TKO.

    Balanced, well reasoned post.

Are you sure you're in the right place? (This is more of a blowhard-at-the-end-of-the-bar kind of joint).

That's one thing I've been impressed with Plant in the build up with - he is really projecting an air of confidence well, and really seems to believe in himself, and I really like that.

Would love to be wrong and for him to really step up and get the upset - or at least really make it close.

Canelo wins this in my opinion,Plant has a habit of opening his guard to much,Canelo can be pretty explosive with his combos,if Plant doesn't slip past those he is done for.If Plant however changes his game plan just for this fight, and doesn't open us as often,I think this would turn out to be quite fun 12 round UD or SD for Canelo.
But I'm not writing Plant off completely,as you said in the video,Plant has some tools that could work really well against Canelo, all in all I think we are in for a treat :)

,Plant has a habit of opening his guard to much,Canelo can be pretty explosive with his combos,"...Exactly . to open & not disciplined enough...its goodnight after Canelos bodyshots slow the sprinter down. Not a canelo fan by a mile , Plant will impress me if he can do better against canelo than BJS, which i doubt...

We will see. The difference between Plant and BJS is that BJS was seen as past his best when he fought Canelo. Plant on the other hand is coming into this fight in his physical prime in the best shape of his life. Not only that he's super motivated to win. BJS talked a lot about coming to win but he wasn't showing the work in the gym. Plant is training out of his mind for this, BJS didn't put the kind of work in the gym to give himself the best chance to win that Plant has.

Plant has that GRIND “Mind set” and is dangerous in the early rounds.

I think Canelo will gas first based on missed punches and Plant is determined to win.

End of the day this goes to the scorecards if Plant does not go to the canvas in the championship rounds. We either get a closer than the scorecards fight or a very late KO

Why are y'all actually giving a prediction for this fight?
If Plant wins I'll delete my whole account
This fight deserves no prediction lol
    Predictions are for 50/50 fights

If Plant comes in to fight Canelo, he gets stopped. If he comes in to survive, he will see the end of the 12th.

This is Canelo's fight to lose but I still give Plant a 10/15% chance of pulling off the victory.

Bud, I just now saw that you have almost 50,000 posts since January 2015! Is that for real? Or has there been some type of software glitch?
