Conn is absolutely better than Smith, whom I compare to a past British HW, Tom Reddington, who was also a tall rangy fighter, a Top British HW usually rating around No. 4 - 7 behind Woodcock, Mills and Shaw. anyway Smith was not the level of Conn, and though Canelo is King today, could he have been as dominant a MW in Conn's Era. too match with Conn, you have to first match Canelo with the MW Kings of then, from Steele to Zale through to Robinson and Co. If he fares well with them then you can compare him with the L-HWs of Conn's Era. I like Canelo, but to match with fighters from different Era's, especially bigger fighters, it only stands that a proper Divisional Route need be established first. I'd say Conn out boxes him. what about Canelo and the not so distant MW tough nuts, like Hagler, Briscoe, Monzon, Fulmer and all those viable contenders in & around them. Canelo is a great, is he an Overall Great?
