Canelo replaces Tommy Loughran against champion Primo Carnera for the World Heavyweight Title. Does Canelo win?

Can we give the Canelo threads a bit of a break?

    It's getting stupid now.

    TY.

I don`t think Canelo could have beat a fighter as big as Carnera however another way of looking at it would be could Canelo have beaten Loughran, I do know than Canelo would have done better v Carnera than he would have done v Louis.

    Canelo wouldn't beat Loughran either.

He would murk both. Loughran didn’t know what to do against Mickey Walker lol, he wouldn’t be good enough against a bigger, taller, longer-reach power counterpuncher like Canelo

He beat Walker... Walker that was far better fighter than Canelo.

And lol at "bigger, taller" - I didn't know that inch of height is such a massive difference.

Canelo had 10 lbs of pure muscle on Walker and Loughran barely scored an SD doing barely anything if you’ve watched the fight. Canelo would match up better against Loughran style-wise than Walker did because Walker was an explosive offensive fighter whereas Canelo is more of a counterpuncher and would exploit Loughran for counters and thus do better than Walker did. Canelo UD Loughran and Canelo KO Carnera. Boom. Simultaneously Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight champion.

The end is humorous but everything before that is serious

Does size matter, or does it only mater, if it favors a modern fighter?

That is a question that we have been struggling with for some time!

Canelo wasn't slower than Walker, however Carnera was a stiff. The size would have benefited both Canelo against Loughran and Carnera against Canelo, however Canelo was the only one of the two who had more than size.

I'll give it another push. I think Barkley would have caved Canelo's head in. Oh wait, already been done!
