I think (and hope) that Saunders gets beaten up.

But when Canelo holds his high guard and takes a shuddering shot, that is a point to him for defensive mastery.

Because rehydration clauses are used to leave a fighter dehydrated which is dangerous? If he had a clause on the fight night weight then that's fair enough but deliberately making it so that someone is diminished in a way that's proven to increase the risk of long-term brain damage is just scumbaggery.

My question is, if your going to have a problem with weight cutting, but are opposed to the idea of limiting how much you can actually cut and still be cleared to fight it seems somewhat hypocritical since a rehydration limit seems like a reasonable middle ground . If a 168 pound fighter needs to come in at 180+ to be successful at that weight could it not be argued that he shouldn't be there in the first place if your going to make any argument at all? I know you will still have idiots cutting too much regardless but why are the rules made with those types of atheletes at the forefront of concern as opposed to having a reasonable middle ground in a hydration limit and let the idiots who ignore there own safety worry about themselves
