You think this fight will make more than a GGG fight? How many PPVs do you think it will do?

This fight was never going to happen. This was going to be Canelo's biggest fight as the so called A side and he ditched it.

I still think it doesn't happen...or if it does, it will be several years from now when GGG has slipped a step due to age.

At 25, I don't see how he can keep dehydrating to 154/155 and then rehydrating to 170 plus.

How do we know for sure that he's trying to do that?

    It doesn't matter.

If by next year GG becomes "The Man" at MW and holds all of the belts, he isn't going to care that Canelo made concessions to fight Floyd 4 years ago.

He'll not give Canelo a huge split.

Yeah, but there's a difference between giving Canelo the bigger share, and giving him the ridiculous split that some of you guys have been quoting.

I don't think anyone would pressure Canelo to move up to SMW and LHW if he were to beat GG.

I don't agree that GG is a huge MW. He doesn't kill himself to make weight, he doesn't rehydrate by huge amounts, and he hasn't got a big reach.

GG could fight at LHW, but I think it's too much to ask. I'd love to see him at SMW though and I think we will.

No matter what you may wish holding all the belts wont make GGG a ppv star and wont make him the a side.

If he doesn't make concessions he wont hold all the belts any way. BJS isn't going to be cheap and team ggg are trying to low ball him and make the fans pressure him to fight like Canelo. Sadly this trick wont work. Well not sadly its idiotic.

He's got bigger fish to fry. But Lara would be a great keep busy fight if it could be made.

He can make concessions, but again, not the kind that you've quoted.

I'm hopeful a BJS fight can be made after seeing him heavily criticise Canelo's decision to relinquish the belt. His reputation will be enhanced by taking on GG. But I don't know. He's got a lot to lose at this stage. I'm a big fan of his and I wanted him to beat Lee. But I wouldn't have minded if he'd have lost, as I know that Lee would definitely have fought GG.

Canelo knows the fight is there whenever he wants it, he'll probably give GGG more of the pie if he can stay unbeaten till his 38.

Why should Canelo cave in, when he has time on his side and other options.

Canelo has been treated unfairly considering his track record. These fair weather what have you done for me lately bs. What has GGG ever done.

Again, there's 2 big egos involved.

If Canelo moves up to MW where GG's "The Man" GG will want to call the shots.

38? I can't see GG being at MW in 4 years.

    Cave in?

Why has he been treated unfairly?

Cave to giving GGG a "fairer" split. He gave 10-90 so thats the starting point i think team ggg will accept 30-70 but they wont get it.

He has taken on all challengers to this point even making massive concessions to get the fights made. He should be applauded for this and to a degree he is but standing his ground on this for the purse split and catch weight has got him off side with quite a few which is unfair considering what he has done in the past.

Like it or not he thinks GGG needs to make a concession to get the fight made and many are backing Canelo on this. I don't want GGG to keep om making excuses i wont him to fight.

*I think GGG and a few others beat Canelo at 160 but its not Canelo's weight class any way

Golovkin fought in an eliminator for the WBC belt so he earnt the split by WBC rules.

Now I don't personally put a great deal of prestige on the belts but I know they are important in the real world and G has no reason to concede anything. Which he proved when WBC stripped Canelo and handed him the belt.

Hopefully Jacobs and BJS will give us the fights we want now.

Canelo has some huge fights at LMW anyways. Rematches with Cotto and Lara, unification with Charlo. 4 big fights there. Plus WW men moving up like Bradley and Brook.

It would have been good to see the two against each other but life goes on and other fights can be made which are just as good.

Canelo is a professional and fighting for a living, if he doesn't wanna risk a fight with Golovkin at 160 pounds for whatever split WBC say, he doesn't have to.

I respect his decision and others should as well.

    Let's move on now.

    Golovkin vs Jacobs
    Canelo vs Smith.
