Flexibility? He hid? atsch Canelo was so flexible, he's dropped the belt and is looking to fight Liam Smith instead. :rofl :rofl :rofl
atsch Canelo put in a voluntary request to fight a chinny WW, and he's now dropped the lineal MW title that he was so proud of winning as well as the chance to have fought for 3 MW belts, to instead fight Liam Smith. :rofl
He deserves zero blame for this mess. Canelo put in a voluntary request, and he gave everyone the impression that he wanted the fight. He was spouting adrenaline fuelled nonsense after the Khan fight, saying how Mexican's don't F around etc, only to then drop the belt and run. Wake up.
GGG has been accepting step-aside money for a while now to let others fight for that belt so don't give me that "zero blame" BS. Post fight, Canelo hinted that the "belts were not necessary" so why were some of you surprised when he dropped it. Fighting under the WBC rules meant Canelo stood to lose millions in the purse split. Maybe not a popular move by Canelo but perfectly understandable to anyone with common sense. It's no wonder most of you keyboard warriors are having a hard time grasping that.:deal
What flexibility has Canelo shown? He's thrown hurdle after hurdle in front of making this fight and the reason why is obvious. He doesn't believe he can win and is worried he's not only lose but lose badly. Now try not to do the usual mental gymnastics you do to make that ginger joke right.
Neither of them are being flexible. They are sticking to their guns and that is the main reason this fight is not happening next. Difference is I blame both, you only blame Canelo. Your objectivity=0. Canelo was extremely flexible to make the big fights in order to become the top PPV draw. GGG wants that spot but seems unwilling to make any of the sacrifices.:deal
He allowed him to face a chinny welterweight first when he was already obliged to fight him next. He was allowing him to take the lions share of the split. His biggest demand? That he fights at the actual weight rather than his own custom made weight class which he then balloons up from anyway. Hardly a big ask. I used to commend Alvarez on getting fights made at LMW. I would never have believed he'd be such a birch a middleweight. I also criticise GGG a lot for having allowed a lot of this to happen but in this case, it's all on his opponent and his particularly cowardly promoter.
Keyboard warriors? atsch Why don't you use logic to evaluate the situation? Yes, GG stepped aside twice. The first time he stepped aside was to let Cotto and Khan fight. And why not? What did he do whilst they were preparing to fight? He fought David Lemieux and obtained the IBF belt. So he got paid, added another belt and was guaranteed to fight the winner of Khan-Cotto. It was a very smart move. His goal is to obtain all of the MW belts. So why would he have blocked their fight? The second time was when Canelo asked for a voluntary to fight a WW in Khan. Yes, GG could have opposed it. But he again got paid, he cleared up a mandatory that he'd have had to have fought in the near future, and he believed that Canelo was going to fight him afterwards. He deserves no criticism for stepping aside. At the time, he thought he was acting in his best interests. How naive of you to think that Canelo dropped the belt due to financial reasons. You talk about common sense, yet he's dropped the belt and the chance to fight for 3 MW belts to instead fight a guy like Smith. If you had any common sense, you'd realise that Canelo wants nothing to do with GG.
atsch Of course I'm criticising him for it. Hardly the same set of circumstances are they? Again, GG stepped aside to add another belt, he got a mandatory out of the way, all whilst believing that Canelo wanted to fight him afterwards. Despite all of Canelo's proud Mexican warrior talk, he's now dropped the belt and ran. If that's in his best interests, fine. But he should have dropped the belt after he'd fought Cotto. Money has got nothing to do with it.
How do you know what's going on behind closed doors? For all you know there was a plan months ago to stage the fight next year, and gayble Sanchez is just trying to build the fight up even more. You're not at liberty to say that.
Exactly. The belt mattered enough when he was defending it against Khan. Alvarez heart gave out and he ran away from his obligations as lineal middleweight champion. Can you imagine the reaction if Golovkin had beaten Froch for the SMW title at 161 lbs then defended against Kirkland whilst promising to face Ward next only to vacate his title and go back to 160 to face BJS?
I have a friend named Able, but I call him Gayble when Im bull****ting with him:deal I figured I'd do it with Gayble 'Dirty' Sanchez!!!!
