Smith's best bet would be to stay on the outside and jab. Canelo will tenderize him on the inside, especially if it's in Texas, where the state authority will pretty much let Canelo eat all the Mexican beef he wants.

Canelo is VERY solid defensively.

 

GGG is by far the best fighter Canelo has beat, without GGG on his resume, his career is much less impressive.

 

Smith will miss most of his shots on the outside landing punches on Canelo`s high guard like Kov did and Canelo will miss alot of shots on the inside because all Smith does is from long range jabs and straight rights and cover up on the inside when opponents get close, Canelo is a far better counter puncher and this will be the difference.
