So, let's assume it's feasible to get this fight made, who comes out on top? For the record, I think Smith can do it, though it's always a lottery going to points against anyone, but especially Canelo; and especially if the fight was staged in Las Vegas.
If Smith can't stop him Canelo. Pointless having judges at ringside for Canelo fights cos they all have strict orders to fill the cards out in favour of the ginger anyway .. outcome is pre determined barring a stoppage
Yes, there is definitely that feeling nowadays that you can't get a fair crack at beating Canelo if it goes to the judges. At best, Smith would get a draw.
I think that Canelo Alvarez KO's Liam Smith in the 9th after dropping him in the 7th and 8th. I'm calling a bodyshot for the finish.
Wow, that's remarkably specific...it's almost like you know something we don't...lol. Shall I specify which Smith in the title?
Canelo vs anyone prediction threads are kind of pointless now as every response will be about Canelo getting a gift or about steroids.
It's only possible to "gift" him the win if it goes the distance, and that's not a foregone conclusion. Plus, come on, we all know boxing (like most sports) is riddled with drug use from the bottom to the top. In boxing, it's probably easier and quicker to name the fighters who aren't cheating.
Canelo might beat Smith fair and square. Sure Smith has the power, but Canelo has the skills. I'm not sold that Callum is a world beater yet. I could be wrong. 50-50 atm Obviously, on the actual cards, if it makes it there, we know ginger wins on points.
Akvarez smashes Smith. It´s a mismatch. Smith doesn´t move his head, is wide open to body shots and fights at a measured pace.
Yes, I agree a decision is not how Smith will want it decided. He is the bigger man, though whether he can hit Canelo, who has a good guard and can be slick, would be the question. Can how make use of his advantages whilst minimising the Mexicans best assets?
I don't think he "smashes" him. Who has Canelo "smashed" in the last few years (which, apparently, is when he's been maturing into his prime) that wasn't glass jawed Amir Khan or dishevelled and faded Kovalev? That's an honest question, no fanboy nonsense involved or needed. Whenever he's stepped up to face the other top middleweights he has acquitted himself well, and (regardless of arguments) has 2 wins and a draw against GGG and Jacobs. But, he never looked like flattening either of them, so how does he bash up Callum Smith?
