Canelo vs Trout = Donaire vs Rigo?

Trout is less slippery, Canelo is a much more effective pressure fighter. The biggest question will be how good Canelo is good at cutting off the ring and throwing with a southpaw in exchanges.

 

Don't forget stamina if its late in the fight who do you think will be stronger ?

 

Definitely Trout, thing is Canelo is used to hitting people and he still gasses so imagine when he's made to miss quite alot, i think he will gas badly and lose the late rounds in a row

The Canelo/Trout bout will be more competitive... Nonito underestimated Rigo and Canelo knows Trout is a real threat. Canelo will put pressure, something Nonito didn't do quite often. Trout is hitable and not as slick as Rigo. Close fight, but we have to remember this fight is in Texas and we know how horrible that place can be at times. Just look at the scorecards in NY for the Nonito/Rigo bout, Trout must put a masterful performance.

 

well trout better put on a dominating performance because laurence cole has already been named a judge in the fight.

on facebook laurence cole lists one of his favorites as golden boy promotions and oscar de la hoya.

and its pretty safe to assume that since cole, who owns an insurance ageny in texas, probably won and wrote the policy for the canelo/trout fight and will judge the fight accordingly.

now, i wold assume that gbp actively reads the esb forums and for this reason decided to not employ judge gale van hoye but cole ranks a close second.

I think the Trout hype maybe the next big, out of control thing, on this board. Trout doesn't have a fourth of Rigo or Donaire's talent for that matter.

nah this fights pretty much a toss up in my eyes

good clash of styles and are at similar crossroads in their careers

there are forums on here comparing canelo to vargas, curry, tyson, holyfield and james toney.

three of five that are guaranteed hall of famers.

i have compared canelo to tommy morrison...which at this point is very generous.

 

More like Wright vs Vargas or hell even Cotto vs Trout. Trout doesn't have the power that Rigo does and Canelo is better coming at you than Nonito

 

Canelo has more demensions to his game than Donaire...Canelo also actually uses his jab and works the body. I don't think it's a good comparison, but that's just my opinion.

 

I see Canelo early in the fight countering and working the body and once in a while landing a monster overhand right. Canelo's hand speed is improving so we should see an interesting fight. Trout will be facing a right handed fighter that can land the best punches against a southpaw with impunity (left hook and overhand right). Canelo by TKO.

 

I tend to agree, I think his win over Cotto is overrated and by some people, Canelo is under-rated (he has a lot of fanboys, but others tend to discount him because of his as of yet weak resume). No way is Trout as good as Rigo, and Canelo and Donaire are different fighters too
