Canelo vs. Vinny Pazienza...

I love Vinny Pazienza but this is a mismatch. Paz only moved up to 154 and 160 when he could no longer compete at the lower weights and Alvarez was a king in those divisions by comparison. He’s a few calibers higher in general as a fighter. Nothing against vinny. He was tough, brave, and exciting to watch with a colorful personality. But he’s out of his league

 

Though I'm not as impressed about Canelo Alvarez as some posters here are. He should
be able to defeat Paz after adjusting to his hand and foot speed the 1st 3-4 rds.
Alvarez by late stoppage or UD, esp in Vegas, where he could lose and still win.

 

Let’s do Canelo v. Dana Rosenblatt next. Televised on Friday Night Fights at a casino in Massachusetts.

The only similarity is the chunky muscular physiques...canelo massacres paz in 3 or 4 with his sharp counters especially the post GGG1 Canelo....if its at 154...paz could take it to points if he boxed

Paz had fast hands and feet,stamina and heart...could box move well and attack too...but 1 of the worst boxing IQ"s imo and poor power

 

I would have to agree and say Canelo would be too much for Paz.

 

I admired Pazienza's grit, but it's Canelo all day long.

Paz went life and death with a 45 year old Roberto Duran, that should tell you righ there who wins between him and Canelo.

 

It's true Paz was tough, always in shape, and could move around the ring pretty well. Only problem is, whenever he stepped up against the better ones, he usually lost. Canelo is a strong guy with power, I can't see Paz outboxing him. I see Paz moving all over the place, grabbing the top rope, sticking out his tongue, (in his usual cocky form), but not doing enough scoring to win this. Had Paz had a punch, he would have fared better against the better fighters he lost to.
