Canelo; Wants 4 fights in 2022

Well after the Plant fight next Saturday he will be fighting 4 times in a little over 11 months.. So I don't think its a BIG IF that he fights 4 times in 12 months.

 

None of the elite fighters are fighting 4 times a year.

Usyk is fighting once a year.
GGG is fighting once a year now.
Fury is fighting once a year.
Beterbiev is fighting twice a year.
Jacobs is not fighting
Charlo is fighting once a year.

etc...

 

And they wonder why canelo a cash cow he works his ass off

 

I want to **** Angie Dickinson, see who gets lucky first.

 

It's BS. If he wants to protect his record with a single loss, he should retire after 2-3 fights.

In the last 10 years has fought 12 world champions after he fights Plant.
Fought the best at 154, 160, and 168 and the #3 at LHW.

 

He probably will fight 4 times next year, just because lots of others box 1-2 times a year don’t mean Canelo has to, he’s 1 of the most active fighters today. Plant would be the 4th fight in 11 months for him.

In terms of who he should fight next, I think 1 more at 168 (Benavidez my preference) and then move to 175 to fight Joe Smith jr

Man, I truly do admire the guys ambition, for real.

 

its special. you have to be built a certain way to stay that hungry. he has more money than half the active boxers combined, yet still wants more work. now thats a fighter. he could fight meaningless fight after meaningless fight like most of the guys claiming they could beat him, but he keeps building serious resume. i was fairly indifferent to him for most of his career, but from ggg forward hes been separating himself from everyone.

 

Sounds ambitious. Depends on who he fights. 4 bums means nothing. 3 bums 1 top fighter means a little more than nothing...etc.
