He can fight 4 times because his promoter will work to ensure he can.

Other fighters with the same ambitions do not get the same luxury he does.

Maybe but don't see it. This year is the only year out of the last decade that he's fought more than twice a year.

Andrade has the WBO MW belt and so (I think?) he can make himself the mandatory at 168. I'd prefer the four you listed but he's someone who can jump the line if he wants to.

When he steps into the ring in November, for the fourth time in 12 months and the third serious opponent, he'll be exposing the whole sport.

I was always confused why Canelo was chosen as the favorite son of the boxing powers that be, recently he's demonstrated that he was the first right choice they made since ODLH.

Don’t care for him as a person but as a boxer lots of respect.

Dude is a big red killing machine. If he fights 4 times or 3 times a year that still more than any other star in boxing today.

like him or not, the man is making lots of people in the business of boxing, including boxers, more money than they would ever have made if canelo were not around. he brings exposure and new fans to the sport. even mma fans are looking to boxing because so many of their stars got canelo in their mouths. hes the modern fighter that other modern fighters will be measured by.

It'll be easy for Canelo to do. He's the A side of the sport. Everyone wants a payday.

In one of the who's #1 all time threads someone (was it you?) said that "the books are closed" above a certain level of greatness.

If Canelo really does do 4 fights in a year twice in a row he might open those books back up, not to the very top but up to a range that hasn't been seen in quite a while.

It's a big if, but an exciting thought.

I'm dreading the quality of conversation if he happens to lose one of these though.

it wasnt me. but i also cant see how anyone could be #1 atg above robinson anymore. its a different sport now so a direct comparison or apples to apples, isnt possible. maybe we can have like a pre 70s #1 for sugar and then have a modern era list. even then, canelo would have a way to go to claim the modern #1 spot. there are just a lot of supermen who have done some remarkable things in the sport. but lets say he unifies 175 after 168, the hype he would generate would most definitely have his name thrown around in such a conversation. especially if he clears it out in the manner he has been dusting off 168. there are a lot of past greats saying nobody beats canelo right now, and i dont remember them saying that about pac or floyd. its just how dominant he has become fight after fight. he could very well lose in any fight, one second lapse in concentration where you catch a lucky shot in the sweet spot, and youre out. but nobody is going to outclass or dominate this dude. not anyone under cw, and even then i think he smashes plenty of cruisers. maybe not all, but he could take some top 10 guys out.
hopefully he stays this hungry and we get to see his ceiling, cause hes gonna run out of comp in a couple years.

Seriously doubt any of these fights will happen, except Charlo. He will KO Charlo and talk about the rest. He loses to any of the three other guys.

He beats three out of the four. He'll knock out Benavidez and stop Charlo. He'll beat Bivol on the inside and hurt him. Beterbiev knocks him down and finishes him late.
