For a fair comparison Floyd weighed 149lbs 30 days out for the Ortiz fight. So he is considerably smaller than Canelo.....if you saw the face off with Guerrero he was noticably smaller than him too.

But Floyd does hold a belt @ 154lbs and appears to not want to give it up so Id like to see the fight.

Alvarez is thick and won't stay at 154 for much longer

They recently asked Canelo about fighting Sergio and he said he would if Sergio came down 3 pounds and he gained 3. But said he wouldn't go to 160 and that he was fine at 154. So it's tough to say but it does seem that he is growing fast.

That's just posturing for an advantage imo.

Alvarez like Mike Tyson is a big stocky guy. People always get overwhelmed by height and proportions, but the determining factor for size in boxing is weight. Alvarez could easily be a 160 fighter just based off his size.

    canelo?

    mike tyson?

    good ****ing grief.

ffs, how about canelo beat a legit in-his-prime 154 like trout before you compare and put him in the hall of fame alongside iron mike.

if you see the photo of canelito on the scales weighing 165 and think thats a "big stocky guy" you must live in a pretty small world.

Not all big stocky guys are the same size. Some are bigger or small than others.

Possibly but Maravilla is also a small Middleweight. Not sure how much of a disadvantage he'd have going down 3 pounds.

Tyson was literally a BEAST. Tyson was an obvious Mesomorph. Canelo and Tyson are different. I disagree a bit about the weight. This right here proves it once again. Every fight is different. Every match-up is different. Weight is an obvious factor but this isn't wrestling. Duran fighting at super middleweight didn't mean he was the bigger man or had a size advantage or was equal to his opponents. Every fight is different.

Recently I saw a video where Peter Quillin was training, and they asked his trainer if they'd ever sparred with Canelo. They said no, and reporter asked "would it be a good fight", Trainer said, I think he is TOO BIG for Canelo. Reporter said, "I'm sure Canelo can make 160 easily". Trainers response, "That's not the point, Hell, ANYBODY can make 160, It's whether he's big enough to compete with this guy at 160". This is exactly what I mean. These guys are pro trainers. I'm sure they know what they are talking about. You need a balance. The human body is complex. Each individual is different.
